UPenn ED Class of 2022 Discussion

Wow so convenient that they’re releasing the week of my midterms. Definitely won’t be distracted/nervous during my exams hahahahahahahha

Did anyone get a confirmation that their application is 100% complete? like an email or something

@Simplicityzz No

@rala2018 Same though ripppp

@rala2018 lol same kms

Do you guys think the results for ED are more likely to come out on the 8th or the week of the 11th?

The past 2 years Penn follows the trend of releasing results in the second Friday of December. It technically should be the 8th but Questbridge ED forms are due the 6th. I don’t know how they can evaluate people within 2 days.

Apparently, the Penn website said December 9 at one point, and then they changed it to Mid-December. That means delay which makes sense because they got a 10% increase applicants, and they extended the deadline for people affected by the hurricanes. Since Admissions office is closed Saturday and Sunday they aren’t going to release them Monday, and it would make sense to release them Friday, Dec 15 that way they get the most amount of time. Also, I heard from an AO(not Penn) that a lot of schools release results on Fridays that way they don’t have to worry about calls from parents whose kids got rejected.

When I called they said it will be the week of the 11th

@demetermt Given that they spend 4-10 minutes on an applicant (maybe 5 more minutes on the committee) it is possible if they really want to. But you’re right it is obviously more convenient the week after. I really hope it’s the 8th though.

I can confirm-- I’m in contact with a member of the Board of Trustees who said that it is the 15th. I think that’s our best bet.

On the collegeboard big future website it says 15th

For people wondering about the date of ED decision being released, here is a link to Upenn’s admission calendar:

http://www.admissions.upenn.edu/inside/calendar

The actual date isn’t on there.

In terms of QB, admissions and financial aid are two separate offices so admissions can accept you as a QB applicant but financial aid can reject you if your EFC isn’t 500 or less (as stated on their website, and several other schools also have a 500 EFC policy)

I feel like for those who choose to roll over to Penn ED, admissions will already have their decision from previously on hand like if they were accepted by admissions and rejected by financial aid they will be accepted right away since that’s on the record…

Just a theory tho since some people were concerned that they weren’t taking enough time to evaluate QB rollover apps!

If someone called and they said the week of the 11th tho that’s probably it. Damn. I wish it was the 8th because I’m a nervous wreck

To clarify, CollegeBoard Big Future says it will notify BY 12/15. It makes sense for them to assume this upper bound even without any info from the school

With all this uncertainty over the reply date, I guess they might just take us by surprise one morning like, ‘Here’s your decision. Happy holidays!’

@anyexreita those aren’t bad stats. The sat II won’t hurt you at all they don’t really care about that. The most important thing in decision is gpa and difficulty of courses and if ur a legacy who donates or not.

@anyexreita My stats are pretty much the same as yours, didn’t send SAT II scores though. Glad to see I’m not alone. Let’s hope they look at the big picture…

@Harrison28 i know… just not exactly competitive. all the applicants who posted their stats have everything perfect and near-perfect, though i wonder if the ones who actually post stats are most likely the highest scorers :V

@anyexreita Most people applying for the ivies and actually “hoped” to get in are the ones with high stats. People with low stats don’t post bc they know they have no realistic chances on getting in.
