@sbmontana I applied. Not expecting to get in at all lol, just hoping for Penn at this point.
@pennplz I applied as a bbb major!!
@DelilahRhodes I am also considering an english major (as a double) and talked about it in my essays!
@DelilahRhodes I am! Probably the only one at my school to do so haha
Do u think they group by ethnicity or where you live… I’m Chinese with far lower objective scores than prolly most applicants from China but I live in Canada. Honestly wanna get into penn so badly but feel like my chances are v slim
@Superpulsar same!! I’m in the same situation as u. Where in Canada? I live in BC. But we typically have more EC than mainland applicants
@good user name aha Ontario here for me and yeah I would agree but I feel like I’m just one in a thousand and nothing really makes me stand out other than my athletics (but I wasn’t even scouted so lol does it even matter). Oh well hoping for the best!!
Lol I’m a french major but am planning on following a pre-med path. I just have lots of French ECs and a passion for it so yeah
@Superpulsar erm… you should probably get some sleep. Isn’t it 1 over there rn? Same, I wrote a lot about tennis but playing recreational at most.
@good user name haha can’t fall asleep been way too anxious (that’s why im still on CC)
@Superpulsar same!! i literally have a timer thing and seeing the seconds tick down is stressing me out
@vegucated26 yesss!
@goodusername oh hey I’m from BC too! Nice to hear we’re both applying to Penn!
only if it wasn’t a test week i would have slept for 4 days straight and wake up to check the result
do you guys thing a 1530 on the SAT is competitive enough for CAS? I know it doesn’t even matter now but I’m just freaking out about anything and everything…
@iwantpizza stats are important, for sure, but they don’t tell who you are. If you scroll over the results thread for class of 2021, you’ll notice that students with perfect scores/gpas get rejected, and students with low-mid 1400s get accepted. In a nutshell, stats don’t dictate your chance to admission. As long as your rec letters, essays, and ECs are outstanding and honest, you are a competitive applicant. btw, I got 1500 on the SAT! Hope that helps.
literally same
@iwantpizza Stats just show that you are worthy to be looked at. Call it the “filtering”. Once you’re in the range , stats don’t matter much especially in the SAT where 1510 and 1550 will be given the same value. So yeah, 1530 is good enough.
@GalladeAggron I think so, especially for Penn and other Ivies.
I think it the “range” does change depending on your geographic area and competition though. International applicants will obviously need a higher score to be “in the range” and your SAT scores will be “taken into context”, which basically means compared to people in your school and local area.
@Dlo99 Right on.
