I will be applying to UPenn this year (ED). Any Idea about the admit rate?
https://www.seas.upenn.edu/prospective-students/undergrad/faq/
"How many applications does Penn Engineering receive?
There were a total of 9,143 freshman applications to the Class of 2020
What is the size of Penn Engineering’s Freshman Class?
The average class size is 435 freshmen."
Assuming the yield rate of 68%, They admit about 640. close to 7% admit rate.
What about ED rates?
Anyone? Please help…
There is no uniform ED admit rate because legacy, Questbridge and recruited athletes are all part of the ED pool. Admittedly, the ED acceptance rate for non-hooked students is higher than RD but no where near the reported overall 22%. The 2020 class of SEAS was told that SEAS had more applicants/space than any other college at Penn; who knows how that translates (US students versus international, local, west coast, mid west).
If applying ED, pick the school by best fit. Penn admissions officer told an auditorium of students that if they did not get accepted ED they should have a 1 day pity-party and then immediately move on by applying to other schools.
I would assume the SEAS ED rate is similar to the overall ED rate, but I am not sure because they do not publish an ED rate by school that I have seen.
@paybrig 40000 total applications. About 7000 ED. Assuming 1400 applied ED to engineering, and 220 were accepted, that makes it about 14%.
