I emailed asking the same thing. Self-reporting is good to be considered for admission. If you’re admitted you have to send official scores.
Hey guys, my high school college adviser mailed my high school materials to Penn on March 23 but they haven’t put them in my file yet. A week ago I emailed asking if they could receive materials by mail now and if I should try to get my adviser to email them and they just responded with the application documents email. My materials were already sent late bc of Corona and I told them that in the email, but they never acknowledged it and still don’t have my stuff. Should I be worried they won’t review my application properly even though everything else was sent in on time?
@nikkiangelique I have the same concerns. I’m still waiting for my HS transcript to arrive by mail (I uploaded the unofficial one just now) and I’m still waiting for my adviser to fill out and submit the College Report. I’m supposed to be getting an interview since I applied to the School of Nursing but I still haven’t received any message about it
@chancemehI’m still waiting for my High School Transcript and College Report to be marked as received too. My HS Transcript request was submitted back in January and my College Report request was submitted in February.
I e-mailed them asking if there’s a chance they might have been lost, and they said since I uploaded my unofficial HS Transcript it’s okay, and same with my college transcripts. But, they didn’t answer me about my College Report. I’m glad that I’m not the only one. Maybe this just means they’re really busy or behind due to COVID-19?
All other 16 schools I applied to, even if they lagged a bit, were pretty on top of everything. This is the only one school that hasn’t marked everything as received or uploaded.
That’s so strange! I sent my scores, HS&college transcripts back in january and didn’t apply until beginning of march. as soon as i got my portal i had green check marks for everything (except college report because i had sent that in right before i submitted my app so it took a little while to process). i would definitely email them and see if it got lost. that happened to me with another school i applied to (submitted transcripts same time) and i just had to contact them and they found it and attached it to my portal. just keep emailing them
do we find out in May?
I think May 15th, but they might start earlier. I already received a decision from another school that had a similar deadline
Are AP scores mandatory to send/report? I didn’t report them on common app because I was under the impression they are only reviewed once you are matriculated.
@covid19sux i don’t think mandatory, just if you want to receive credit for courses you took in high school, but since you’ve already completed some college courses i don’t know how likely they are to accept AP scores. i would definitely send them with SAT scores though if you want them to be reviewed, you can probably self report
@mill213 thanks! Yeah, I didn’t bother putting on common app because some of them really didn’t matter lol. I just put the aware I got from college board for taking a bunch of APs
Are you guys showing any demonstrated interest at all? I think Penn tracks it for high school seniors, but I don’t know about transfers. If you are showing demonstrated interest, would you mind sharing how?
And I submitted only my AP scores (4s and 5s) as part of my application. Hope this helps!
@herewegooo they sat they dont track demonstrated interest. however, i went on a tour over the winter and went to a transfer info session there
Hi Everyone, Is there a contact email address for transfers to use to ask general questions such as to get information on what courses at my current institution transfer to UPenn? I am not applying as a transfer this year, but will be next year. Thanks so much for your time and good luck to everyone!
@b2upenn unfortunately they don’t have transfer officers, the regular admissions officers handle all transfers as well. however they’re able to answer any questions you may have. try info@admissions.upenn.edu or you can try contacting your regional officer (check https://admissions.upenn.edu/contact-us to find your specific region’s email). they might take a while to respond right now, so if you don’t hear back within a few days just resend it. hope this helped!
Hi @mill213 - thank you for your help. I did try contacting my regional officer and received no reply. I will try info at admissions.upenn.edu. Thanks again!
Hey y’all. My
I have exactly the same situation. I emailed the admission and they told me no need to resend. All I need to do is just wait them to process all the materials.
Anyone else got an email from the admissions office today asking for missing transcript(s)?
@hsc927 i did not. what kind of transcripts are they asking for? did you previously submit all of the required ones?
@mill213 It was for a college transcript that got lost in the mail. I uploaded an unofficial copy on the portal, but they also wanted an official copy to be sent at some point as well.
@hsc927 that makes sense then. did they mention anything about spring grades? some colleges ask certain students to submit spring grades after your semester is over
