@Anubis13 Thank you so much! Berkeley released 2000 acceptances last night, for their top 2% of applicants. I think it’s a yield strategy
@ShaunakK98 That’s so sadistic I’ll let you know how I do IN A FREAKING MONTH AND A HALF
@Anubis13 Good luck! I really do hope you get in!
Hi everyone! I haven’t posted on her before but I was just wondering if anyone has not gotten an interview yet? I just had a Cornell interview today and my interviewer said the deadline for her is February 15th so she’s doing her interviews kind of late haha.
@ShaunakK98 we’re all in this together
Has anyone heard anything about likely letters? I’ve heard that they’re normally sent out around this time of year.
wondering the same thing^^
They went out four days ago last year. My guess would be later today or tomorrow. I will be lucky to get in at all, let alone receive a likely letter
I think they are being sent out right now.
My guess would also be either today or tomorrow.
But weren’t Likely Letters for the Class of 2018 sent out on Feb 28th? So maybe they might go out a bit later this year, too?
No sane person should be inquiring about Likely Letters. That foolishness should simply stop. You’re only setting yourself up for a fall. The few – the very lucky few who do get them – are the best of the best and Pennreally wants to put on the full court press to get them to choose Penn.
If you happen to ultimately get one – congrats! Bask in that glory! But no one should be so filled with hubris that they’re *waiting for one.
@T26E4 I understand that you mean well, but you just came across as an extremely patronizing person. Nowhere did I, or any of the people who replied to my comment, imply that we were “waiting” to receive a letter. I commented on this thread for the sake of inquiry itself. However, by implying that I’m not “sane,” that I’m “filled with hubris,” or that I’m engaging in “[foolish]” behavior is absurd. I understand you’re a senior member who’s dedicated a good amount of time to this forum, and I thank you for your input, but please understand that there’s a line between “helpful advice” and “rude commentary.”
@T26E4 I am not pining away for a likely letter either. Multiple times I have stated that I would be extremely lucky even to be admitted, particularly after being deferred ED
I know how incredibly slim my chances are. I would be unbelieveably overjoyed to get in RD, so I do not expect anything at all.
@mattyhan Amen
@mattyhan I concur. I could have been more judicious with my advice. My apologies to this thread’s readers.
Hi guys! Is anyone still receiving interview requests? I just wanted to get an idea of when to stop expecting one (although I’m aware that the number of interviewees far outnumbers the number of interviewers).
There are 3500 prospective who weren’t offered an interview yet. Penn admissions is working on it; they are asking for alumni volunteers who can get it done in the next week or so.
@desie1 Thank you! That gives me considerable relief.
One of my clients who applied to Penn just got offered a Skype interview this week.
