How and what financial aid mateitals did you guys submit in?
I just found out from the UPenn website that decisions come out by April 1st. Is there like a specific time we should start spamming the portal?

Thanks @aBitOfLuck
any international applicants for chemical engineering?
Hi, everyone! I read most of this thread, and I want you all to know how truly and incredibly proud I am of all of you! Even if I don’t know you, applying to a school like this takes a lot of courage. You all deserve to get into Penn!
- Why are you applying to UPenn?
My dentist went to Penn and recommended it to me. - What draws you to UPenn?
First of all, I really like the unique majors that combine science and history. I think it’ll give me a great start for professional school. I also like the location of the school, the administration, the people, the generous financial aid, and basically everything about the college felt right (and not just because it’s an ivy. I really like it haha). - Which program are you applying to?
I applied to Arts and Sciences. - Where did you apply for EA?
I applied early action to Susquehanna University. It’s one of my safeties. - What are your qualifications?
I don’t know. I guess I worked pretty hard, and I humbly hope it pays off now. (: - What is your intended major?
I think I would like to pursue Science, Technology, and Society - What are your hobbies/interests/extracurriculars?
I like to read and hang out with my dog haha. I run if it’s above 0°F, and I did cross country when I was in public school. - What tips/advice do you have for applying?
I think what I’ve learned most of all from the application process is that you’re going to be happy no matter where you end up attending college. If you get rejected from Penn, it isn’t the end of the world. Try to stay relaxed, and understand that attending a safety school is way okay. (: God (or fate if you aren’t religious) will put you where you’re supposed to be.
I support every single one of you. Rejected or accepted, we’re all kind of a family right now. Good luck!
@businessg101 a what? Sorry I haven’t been following the thread
Sorry a hook to get a letter from Brown nvm though! @jorjimarie
Okay I have a question about interviews. I live in New York, but the person that interviewed me lives in Cali and it was conducted over the phone. Is this odd since interviews are just by geographic location? Could this mean that I was like interesting and they really wanted me to get an interview? I think I’m just looking into this too much in desperation after a JHU rejection but still. Thought I’d ask
It doesnt mean anything. Sorry
@yeah123yeah
here
Does anyone know how to check financial aid status for Penn?
^^^^ I wanted to know that too
@dreams2big4scores2low yes, it could mean they really want to have an interviewer’s report on you and they can’t find anybody in the area at this time. Good luck!
@graceann @HelloEveryone27 I contacted the Penn financial aid office by e-mail and they responded within 1-2 days of what documents they had and what documents they needed. Hope this helps!
Hey… I was rejected at JHU as well… and …like you …desperate for Penn
Thanks guys, maybe I’ll let myself hope a little… Good luck to everyone especially @rik123 I know your feels
@rik123 I know how you feel. I am now even more worried about getting into the rest of schools I applied to. JHU was a big blow for sure
Hey guys, I come from a small public school with a graduating class of 53 students. We are located in rural Illinois and my entire town has 2,000 people. Only one kid before in the history of the school has gone somewhere prestigious, Notre Dame (he also turned down Harvard). I currently am ranked 3rd, have a 3.98 UW GPA 4.11 W GPA, and received a 32 on my ACT. I felt that my common app essay was excellent, but my Penn supplement was sort of weak. I did address my extreme interest in study abroad, and mentioned that I was unable to satisfy my interests in business at my high school because we only had one class–Agricultural Business. I know for sure I had a stellar recommendation as well from my U.S. History teacher, and I have taken the most advanced classes available, including AP Calc BC. Is it possible that I have a decent shot of making the cut? I was unable to visit Penn until two days ago. I am applying to Wharton. Any thoughts?
