*** UPenn RD applicants discussion thread ***

Just got rejected by Swarthmore. I hope I’ll hear some good news from Penn next week.

How are all of you feeling with exactly one week until you find out about Penn RD? Just curious

@PennCAS2020 well technically, it was exactly one week 3.5 hours ago

@PennCAS2020 Anxious, but excited. But anxious. Mainly because I’m on Spring Break and there’s nothing to do to distract myself :-"

Nervous but at peace

Completely fine. Only on here because I’m bored, and you guys entertain me

nervous, and I downloaded the Yodha app as well…taking every chance to battle anxiety and get some relief

I just wanna cry lol

@graceann don’t do that

I’ll try my best @MijoChbulkan

Can’t decide if I want to cry, die, or drown myself in ice cream. Got rejected to 2 of my top 3 schools (the 3rd one being Penn) so I’m stressing

I got waitlisted at Duke and Notre Dame, really hoping for Penn though, its probably my top choice.

lol the yodha app told me I would be happy after admissions, trying soooo hard to not get my hopes up

really stressing… got waitlisted at Notre Dame too.

@businessg101 @nolanconcepts Notre Dame waitlist squaddddd right here

@shemp903 @businessg101 ayy. Any luck at any other top schools?

@nolanconcepts @businessg101 I was only allowed to apply to six schools. UIUC, Wisconsin, Penn State, Michigan, Notre Dame, UPenn. Recently found out I made the dumb ass mistake of applying for the Summer term to Michigan. So, I realistically have admissions to UIUC Honors, Wisconsin, and Penn State. Notre Dame is waitlist, Michigan is screwed in general, and Penn is unpredictable. I did not write that great of an essay for Penn either.

Is it a sign (at the very least, a good one) that my interviewer was from Montana. For reference, I live in TX and we had a Skype interview on Feb. 15, and I was just trying to figure out why they lived so far away. Like even if Penn just wanted an interview on file for me, the fact that the geographic disparity is so huge is a good sign, right? And I also got the snail mail telling me that I was missing financial aid documents but mine was dated for March 7th

Anyone willing to read my essays can PM though

@CardinalSin2020 don’t stress man, whatever happens happens at this point. If it makes a difference, I’m from Illinois and my interviewer was from boston. I wouldn’t consider myself a spectacular ivy league candidate. 32 ACT, white, some extracurriculars, some community service, 3 AP, 3.98 UW GPA, 3/53 rank, decent recommendations, great common app essay, mediocre “why penn” essay. I come from a rural high school of 200 students. Nobody applies to Ivy League. Boy would this make a story if I got in though!!
