Hey y’all, waiting on that Penn decision on March 31 too. Honestly don’t know what to think… this admissions cycle has been weird. I’m into UGa, UNC (in-state), and Tepper @ CMU, rejected from UVa and Duke, and waiting on Penn and Harvard. Fingers crossed for everyone!
Yeah so far I’ve gotten rejected from all of the ones that I had a feeling I wouldn’t get into and accepted into all of the ones I had a feeling I would get into… too bad I’m feeling no for all my ivies
Rejected from Swarthmore and waitlisted at Haverford and Carnegie Mellon so I think it’s safe to say my chances are gone. But who knows, I might end up applying here again for grad school! Congrats to everyone that got in!
Also thought it might be funny to note that the decisions come out the same day my debate team leaves for Penn Model Congress. Can’t wait to open my reject email when I’m on campus!

Looks like i am quite late for those questions so ummhh i have apply to Penn coz obviously its lav. And well so far have been rejected from i guess 10 11 universities ( yeah i am cool) and just Upenn’s and harvard’s is kinda left :,D . My SAT score is the main problem, and i admit 490 reading score is not quite enough and doesnot even suit my 800 maths score. Nevertheless, i have better subject scores of 2400 in maths level 2 , physics and english literature and also carry a GPA of 3.99 ( 0.01 has its own value 
). Extracurriculars include 4 internships, founder of 2 organisations working for student welfare and catastrophe-hit areas. Treasurer of my schools welfare society, run my own cricket club for special children and play table tennis professionally. I have written a couple of economics research papers and also researched with a scientist and put my ideas of converting thunder lightings into electrical energy, did that using artifical lightning( got a letter written from him too ). Experience of stock market, got some money from parents to invest ( failed it badly xD ). And then i have developed a sign language translator which can help speech disabled to communicate with us by using the same sign language which was translated into alphabets onto the attached LCD and later on could voice them too. And lastly, as far as i remember, i have worked with an organisation known as PISE in which we aimed to provide education in areas which were neglected by government. We set up libraries by collecting a book, a Pakistani rupee (1 cent ) from everyone to build up those libraries and got some money from sponsers to give the underprivileged children over there the access to e-education. This involved hiring of volunteers who could teach the children back there through skype in their free-time. And i almost forgot that i was an asthma patient as well and was left out from under 19 cricket team due to it. Had this in my essay and my journey of helping a boy who came through in my journey who was mute and helped him by developing sign language translator.
I have a good essay overall but don’t know about the counsellor letter (nepotism in our school at its peak so can’t expect much…).
I have applied to Fisher’s M and T program, toughest i know but worth a try. Just hoping they would overlook my reading score. And by the way, i need some of your precious time to pray for me because my fam is financially broke and maybe this is the only way i could advance in my life.
I’ve been reading this thread for over two hours and have been freaking out over this decision for the past two months! I was accepted to three SUNY schools (I’m from new York) as well as Haverford and Hamilton, waitlisted to Dickinson and JHU and denied from Swarthmore (which was very upsetting as it was my second choice) so as of now my chances of getting into Penn aren’t looking too hot. my sister is currently a freshman, so I’m hoping that will help in my decision, but I’m pretty sure being a legacy only helps for ED.
I never received a request for an interview ?? Kinda been bugging me for months ??? Any thoughts on this considering “more than 91%” of applicants do ???

I take IB math physics art HL and lit spanish b econ sl with predicted scored of 40. I also submitted art portfolio and my ec mainly focusses on art and math. I am an asian living in latin america.
