*** UPenn RD applicants discussion thread ***

Wait what?! Is it a thing that Penn dorms aren’t good?!! This is a problem!!

@MijoChbulkan I know for a fact that the Quad is awful. Can’t say about the rest. But it is ok because it is Penn! I would still go there even after my traumatic experience!

I applied ED and this is news to me… Wow I’m worried now

lol just added insect sprays and repellents on my dorm shopping list

Is it horrible to say that in the off chance that I get in I would choose not to stay in the quad?

I think freshmen have to stay in the quad. Some rooms did not have many/any roaches. I think I got pretty unlucky in terms of that, but I loved everything else. I applied ED too @MijoChbulkan so it is ok :stuck_out_tongue:

EDIT: I think I am wrong about freshmen having to stay in the quad

Hehe nope I did research when I applied ED, freshman don’t haaaave to live in the quad

Freshmen definitely don’t have to live in the quad. There isn’t even room for all of them. And the brand new dorm is opening up this year for the class of 2020.

Roaches? Looks like Penn’s off my list…

lol JK idc. I’ll just roundhouse kick every one I see

@Grapess Love your profile photo. Leon the Professional is definitely one of my favorite movies and Natalie is absolutely gorgeous

@desie1 does that mean more acceptances this year?

@anotherdude I hope it does :)) :((

during the last week of February i sent in an update via email and received an automatic reply saying "Thank you for your interest~~~ we look forward to replying as soon as we can~~~ (couple of other sentences), but after that nothing else. i know it’s late already but should i call them to check if it has been added to my file or would they have done it anyway? :frowning:

@anotherdude Definitely not more acceptances this year, unfortunately! Penn is closing Hill House for renovations and making the new dorm just for freshman for this coming year only. After that it will be more of a mix. They’re just trying to make sure that eventually more students can stay on campus if they want to for all four years. I don’t think Penn has any intention of increasing future class size.

I got an interview in my home city, but so did at least 200 other people. We were in the school library at a private school and they just assigned you to an alumni who wasn’t conducting an interview at that time. And there were like 20 people doing there interviews in the library, so you could hear everyone and it was super informal.

@Extra0dinary Basically my essay had one paragraph of why I like Penn, including flexibility and another on why I wanted to major in business, and intro and conclusion. I wrote it like half an hour before submitting the actual application which I submitted an hour before the deadline.

Damnnn… it took me around a week to write my Penn supplement haha.

@businessg101 @nolanconcepts @shemp903 ayy Notre Dame waitlist as well. So far waitlisted UVa and Notre Dame and accepted PSU and Carnegie Mellon.

Rejected at UVA with a 2310.

@marie122 haha daaamn! That sounds like some solid structures there - so Wharton huh?
