Best of luck to you, my friend!

Does anyone know if Penn looks at our college GPA or cumulative GPA?

I took a Math 091 (algebra) class that was factored into my cumulative but not college gpa so which do they look at?

Yayyyyy all my stuff has been processed, FINALLY so this looks like they’re actually on it! There is hope haha

jhanago, I don’t know but I assume whatever is on your transcript is what they look at. I know when I called, they kept stressing that they need the grades from last semester - so I would say that’s really important. If you’re a current freshman, then it’d probably be your last semester grades (college GPA). But if you’re a sophomore, then I don’t know

hey guys, i applied as a transfer to penn back in february, but i never submitted a mid-year report. i called in january and the person who i spoke with said that the grades on the mid year report are from last semester and didn’t actually have to be submitted. so i didn’t submit it, but the more i looked into it i realized that it would make sense that the mid year report be your current grades. so i emailed admissions and told them this and they said that not all students are required to submit a mid-year report and that if they needed one they would follow up with one directly…did anyone else NOT submit the report? or receive similar answers? i am a little worried if i should submit one and i am concerned about what they mean when they say not all students have to submit one (so what type of applicant has to?). please let me know!

ker2008, I think they mean that missing a midterm report isn’t going to keep you from getting in. Probably if your grades were questionable first semester and they want to see if you have improvement, then they’ll want to see it. It looks like for many, they don’t care if they have it or not since the rest of their application can speak for itself. You said they also told you that if they wanted one, they would follow up with you. If that’s what they told you, then I don’t think it’s a huge deal. As far as what type of applicant has to submit one, like I said, I suspect it’s an applicant that they are considering but on the fence about or just want to watch college improvement. Don’t stress! :)

Damn college transcript still isnt in…

College transcript has still not been processed, also midterm is not a requirement but I would say wait until you don’t get an email asking for that.

same, my college transcript hasn’t been processed but i am 100% positive that it was sent and received.

my bet is they’ll start releasing decisions one month from tomorrow on the 14th.

lol thats my birthday! it will either an AWESOME or depressing birthday

lol… May 14th is my birthday too…and ^ agreed. I am in the same boat as you guys. My only document still considered outstanding is my transcript. They likely have all of our college transcripts but still have not gotten the chance to process them.

does anyone have substantial evidence to back any estimate decision release date … is there a thread from last year that we can look to?

By the way, does anyone want to just create a new thread on Penn’s forum? Like a “Official Penn Transfer Thread Fall 2010”, I know they did something similar for 2008, 2007 and etc.

do you have a link to that thread so I can look at it JOE? I am hoping to get an idea of when decisions come out

Everyone stressing out about their transcript not showing up…relax. I called a few days ago and they said that each part of the application is processed by a different part of their admissions office and that the section for transcripts is especially slow. Then the next day mine showed up as processed. Everyone needs to just take a deep breath and relax. Clutch.

to anyone who has applied this year:

Did you use the Common App?

If so, how did you address specific reasons to transfer to UPenn in the main application essay, knowing that it will also be sent to the other schools that you applied to?

Also, did its supplement still contain page 217 of 300 of your autobiography?

Thanks

Do we need to send a mid term report and a secondary school report to UPenn? And if so, can we just fax it to them?

Ok, update on the secondary school report + mid term report. My penn admissions portal says “nothing outstanding at this time” and I still haven’t sent them a mid term report or a secondary school report. I guess we don’t have to send them? Should I send them anyways? I’ve already send them to cornell and stanford.

For the midterm report, I hadn’t sent one in. I emailed admissions and they said that not everyone has to submit one and if they need one they’ll contact you. I’m guessing that almost everybody does submit one, but they don’t necessarily need it? I’m not sure! But in any case I would just not submit one and if they need one they’ll let you know. Also, I don’t think transfers need to submit a secondary report (because that’s high school).

When do u think will we get the decisions?!
