Hello everyone! It’s about t-minus 24 hours until I’m set to make the final decision on where I will go for the next four years. I couldn’t be more torn.
Major: Computer Science probably working on android/ios although I’ve taken machine learning courses and it looks pretty cool as well.
I know Yale isn’t known for computer science, but my main question is how much change has there been since 2015?
I loved Penn and Yale when I visited, but I didn’t really like how Penn’s campus was integrated with the city. I also loved the chill vibe at Yale, I really got the sense that they really do “struggle together”. I’m not a really big frat guy, and just really like playing basketball then going on a 3-4 hour coding binge.
Another question I have is, will I miss out on anything such as certain classes or opportunities by going to Yale rather than Penn? I’ve made friends at Quaker days and Bulldog days, but that kind of stuff is usually easy for me. I also really dig that Yale gives you the option to get a Masters in Computer Science within your four years, should I choose to do that (I know a masters in CS from Yale isn’t the best option).
My final question is: How much change do you think Yale would undergo by the time 2022 hits?
Thank you, everyone, for reading this, I know this isn’t structured particularly well. I’m normally good under pressure, but this is pretty difficult.
