UPenn Waitlist 2027 thread

still holding out delusional hope :tulip::hibiscus::rose::ear_of_rice::star2:

We know of a waitlisted kid at another school (friend of my kid) who got an email last week asking if they were still interested in Penn but they have received no news since then. We haven’t heard of anyone else getting that email, including my kid

I think people got that email if they didn’t submit the waitlist update form. I got a similar email from a school I didn’t submit a waitlist update form for. I genuinely don’t think it means anything, so I wouldn’t read too much into it.

I’m not sure. I haven’t spoken to the parents but knowing this family they left no stone unturned. Our school has many kids still on waitlists and our college counselor is not optimistic there will be further movement among the ivies at this point. We have only had a handful of kids get off of waitlists, and those were earlier in May. :crossed_fingers:

I heard that Penn usually takes a lot of time reviewing waitlist applicants, it is always late.

My son received the same email as moocow1 is saying.even though he previously submited a loci earloer this month and accepted the wailist option. So he resent another loci with updates .Now I can see 2 locis on his portal account.hope it is a good sign.

Taha.are you in state or international if I may ask

That’s great! (at least way better than the 5 that some previously anticipated)

Did your son receive the email asking to continue on the waitlist last week? That’s when my kid’s friend received theirs. They too sent an additional LOCI last week after they received the email asking if they were still interested. I think it is indeed a good sign. :crossed_fingers:Our applicant did not get an additional email last week so I don’t think it’s happening for us (our college counselor did not seem optimistic there would be many off the wl) but I hope it does for others! What a crazy process!

Maybe it depends on his major.as you are saying in this group, nursing and wharton classes are full.the openings might be in engineering.my son applied for engineering.what is yours?

enginnering also

Mamabear.whatvis your son’s major

My applicant is Arts and Science - they only received 1 email regarding waitlist.

My applicant’s friend (different school) received 2 emails regarding the waitlist (most recent was last Monday) and I don’t know their major but they are not STEM (they want to go to law school eventually).

I just got rejected from another school’s waitlist :smiling_face_with_tear:

Penn is taking so long just so they can eventually reject us. they need to hurry up and just make a decision.

They should do it this Saturday so my delusions stop.

I honestly think that people put on the waitlist deserve to be accepted more than people who actually got accepted :joy:

I mean, look at how interested and ambitious you all are
