Upitt Urgent Help!!!

Please tell me where the upitt guaranteed program interviews start? Like where should I meet the interviewers? at the med school? and what time are the interviews and what is the structure?

Thanks!

didnt you get a letter stating the answers to your questions?

i only got a letter with the date confirmation i believe, i am searching now...any help would be greatly appreciated!

I think it was like 9 somewhere in scaife hall. I forget the room #, but if I look at it inbetween now and monday (when my interview is) i'll let you know.

when is your interview anyways?

lol I found the letter!! 518 scaife hall for anyone else who is wondering and thanks for being willing to help evilbooyaa

they didn't tell us the exact time did they? just sometime between 10 and 12

how'd ur interview go evilbooyaa? what kinds of questions did they ask? was it intimidating?

pitt interview was as easy as the drexel interview was hard. (meaning it was very relaxed and overall easy)

senior0007 - you find out what time your interview is on the day of your interview, when you turn in your CV and photograph.

my interviewer was a nice lady named Franki Williams, director of diversity affairs for the med school.

she asked me how I had fun. then we talked about the things I do for fun, including watching south park and family guy. then, we talked about those two shows for a bit before she told me about students who say that they don't know how to have fun. we talked about how bad that is, and the sub-20 minute interview was over.

really speaking, more of a conversation, and it seems like it's going to be a crap shoot to see who gets in.

This is my #1 choice, so i'm realllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly hoping to get in. and no, the interview wasn't intimidating, quite informal for me actually.

lol - sounds weird; did they even ask why medicine?

no. I was really shocked

evilbooyaa were you at 10:40 or do you have a sister that goes to upitt?

I was at 10:00, and I don't have a sister. I have a brother who is in mech engineering at pitt right now.

I had the same experience as you Evilbooyaa. Thanks for your help and good luck!

yea, no problem dude. good luck to ya

Do you have any idea how many people they are interviewing?

Since people from around the country are flying in for this program, I imagine the competition is intense; and since the interview is so short and they don't even ask the major questions, does the adcom pretty much base the decision on the CV?

I had a good feeling from my interview; but I imagine most people do also with those types of questions. I'm curious to see how the candidates are chosen.

I think 100 people get interviews, 10-ish are accepted into the program. I'm not exactly sure what they base it on, but the CV is definitely important.

Has anyone heard back yet?

By the way, my interview was also really relaxed. The "why medicine" question did come up, but after a minute or so the conversation drifted away towards something else. I was, like you guys mentioned, asked "what do you do for fun"...again, pretty low key.

The interviewer and I talked about these books she and I both had read on neurological disorders, which was pretty cool, though I was surprised she didn't have much of a medical background.

By the way, I was under the impression that the person that interviewed me didn't sit in on/have much of a say on the final decisions for who's chosen, so it does sound like it'll come down to the CV: I'm glad I spent a lot of time on mine.

I just called pitt med school cause I was wondering what the hell was going on, and they said they were going to mail out decisions by monday.

Thanks for the update. Knowing that they probably already made the decision is nerveracking.

i got in!

now i only have 2 weeks to make the most important decision in my life: ivy vs med. :(
