does upitt have a BS/MD program.. hmm.. because i cant find a site about it. Is it only open to instate students or is there even a program?

yeah, Pitt has a guaranteed acceptance program. it is 8 years. i don't remember what the website is but basically search for "guaranteed admission programs" or something like that on their site. they have programs for dentistry and pharmacy too i think. its open to all students. i was admitted this year and i'm from MD.

thats awesomeee... your so luckyy.. :) Can you list your stats? I heard pitt's very competitive to get into.. like as competitive as HPME or PLME.. is this true?

hey thanks,
um, I don't know how it ranks in competitiveness, but honeslty it didn't seem that difficult to get in to. I mean, you just had to check off the box that says "pre-med" on your potential concentration or major on their application, and then if you have the right stats (I think its like above a 1400 SAT and 3.5 GPA or something) they contact you for interview. I went to the interview, and it basically lasted about 15 minutes, and she asked me 2 questions: tell me about yourself and why do you want to go into medicine. I heard from a few other students that they usually only have 5 spots or so reserved for high school seniors, so I wasn't banking too much on Pitt after that. I think this actually helped, because I went in the interview pretty relaxed, and just spoke of my passion for medicine, why I want to study it, etc. I think this is the most important part, so don't worry too much about stats. If you're above they're minimum, you'll get an interview, and from there on, its just about how you present yourself.

Good luck! Oh and btw I ended up not choosing Pitt in the end. I chose Miami's program, because honestly I didn't think I'd like living in Pittsburgh for 8 years (I'm thinking I'm going to regret my decision, but oh well, I guess only time can tell).

Feel free to PM me or whatever if you have more questions. I don't really come on these boards too often anymore, so it may take me a while to reply.
