<p>You might have hw due in discussion, though you could probably arrange to turn it in early. Other than that, discussion will help you do the work. If you don’t need the help or think you can rely on OH, it shouldn’t be a problem. [referring mostly to math here, though I don’t see why physics would be much different]</p>
<p>there’s always like half the class missing in my math discussion anyways, so it’s not that big of a deal. But hey, at least that’s better than my econ discussion (2 people).</p>
<p>It wasn’t a problem at all to miss my physics 131 discussion. Still got an A or A+ (can’t remember) in the class, with only stupid mistakes on the midterm and final (2+3=6 level of mistake). Discussion in math i’ve found pretty useless for my 2 math classes this quarter (1 doesn’t have a discussion), while it’s helped a lot in one of my physics classes.</p>
