Upward trend or downward trend?

Here are my grades from freshman year to junior year. I do not know whether this is a downward trend or upward trend. I am planning on applying to UC’s and CSU’s if that helps. Anyone care to assess? Thanks.

I’d say upward. A lot less B’s and C’s in junior year, and no failing grades! Good job!

Definitely upward trend. Also, UCs do not look at Freshman grades, so that cuts off most of the Bs. The rest are mostly As, a few Bs, and the occasional C or D, so you’re looking good, although that depends on where you want to apply.

EDIT: Same for CSU’s, but both look at freshman classes to see if you fulfilled the A-G requirements.

Calculate your UC/CSU GPA: http://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/

The D and few C’s will hurt you for the Mid-tier and Upper tier UC’s and a few of the competitive Cal States. For the UC’s, you can explain your lower grades in the additional comment section, but for the CSU’s you cannot.

CSU’s base their admissions on CSU GPA and test scores. Calculate your eligibility index as follows:
(CSU GPA x800) + (SAT Math + CR) or (CSU GPA x200) + (ACT composite x10). CSU’s will rank you based on your major and EI. They will accept from the highest down until all the spots are filled.

For the UC’s, you have EC’s and essays to help boost your application so work on these items this summer.

Good Luck and happy applying.

@Gumbymom Thank you for the response.

I am currently taking AP World History to makeup the “D”. I am projecting an A, if not a B. I calculated my UC GPA and I got a 4.0 with the “A” from the retake online class I am currently taking.
