<p>I think it depends on the program you are looking for. Computer Engineering, Biomedical, Chemical, Mechanical, etc… I personally can only speak to what Rochester has to offer, as I am not familiar with RPI, but I’d happy to help in any way that I can. I’m sure others will have some valuable input.</p>
<p>I’d say that while UR has a very solid engineering program, the engineering programs and RPI are much better. RPI offers more different kinds of engineering degrees, with more different classes for each degree, has better research oppertunities in engineering, and more famous professors in engineering. RPI also has better name recognition for engineering in industry than UR has. There are also much more engineering students at RPI, although that can be a good or bad thing depending on who you are.</p>
