I have narrowed it down to these two schools, and I have visited both. I plan on majoring in Electrical Engineering, and I think these schools are probably similar in that field (small program), but I think Wash U has more overall prestige; I liked both schools when I visited, but Wash U was just beautiful, and everyone was really nice (and the food/dorms were excellent). People were very friendly at UR, as well. However, I have a $22K/yr. scholarship to Rochester, and I'd probably only get $2K/yr for Wash U. Money isn't exactly a deciding factor; my parents told me to pick where I would be happiest. I like the cold, so that doesn't bother me, but if my eventual goal was to get a good internship and then maybe go and get an MBA at a school like Stanford, would one serve me better over the other?

What are your thoughts on these two schools? Thanks!

Both schools would make good choices given your future plans - you are fortunate to have the choice. If your parents are willing to pay pick Washington. If you want them to save money to pay for your graduate school later onl pick Rochester.

Whoa!! Same situation! Even with the money stuff!

Really? That’s strange, haha. Which school are you leaning toward?

I don’t know!! I’m visiting both this weekend (driving both times so it’s going to be crazy).

Well have a good trip. Let me know which you choose. I can’t decide.

So we went to Wash U and talked to the head of financial aid and he handed us another 10k. Literally. All we did was ask. If you can get to Wash U sometime soon, I highly suggest you go see him!

Btw, I decided to go with Wash U :)

^That’s awesome. Too bad I didn’t apply for aid, so I can’t get anything haha.
