Urgent Cornell Question - Wise Alumni/Students?

**Biology and Society is offered at CHE and CAS

1) I was wondering if any current students or alumni think one if better than the other?
I also heard that it's a very competitive major?

Please it's urgent!!

2) I love CHE but biology and society and HBHS seem pretty similar...

3) would it hurt me to put undecided but be specific that I want to major in B&S or HBHS?

Thanks in advance!!

Do you live in New York State?

Are you absolutely positive that you want to be a bio major and are sure that you won’t want to switch to another major like Chemistry, History, or English?
If the answer to one or both of these questions is “Yes,” then you’re probably better off just applying to Human Ecology with Arts and Sciences as an alternate. If you’re in New York State, I’d also recommend looking into CALS. They have a Bio and Society major there as well with the added benefit, just like HumEc, of reduced tuition for NYers.

I was a Biology and Society major through CALS. The major is identical, regardless of the college (CHE, CAS or CALS). The only difference is the graduation requirements of the respective college. Do you enjoy the liberal arts? If so, CAS would be the best choice. Like malan89 said, CHE would be a good choice if you’re an NYS resident and like the college mission. If you’re an NYS resident and like the sciences, studying Bio and Society in CALS is also another option to consider.

I’m going to be out of town for a couple of days…but if you have more questions about the Biology and Society major, feel free to PM and I’ll get back to you.
