I have lived in Virginia for 12+ years, gone to NoVa public schools, and have a VA driver's license. Everyone in my family is a US citizen. My parents own a house in Virginia and live and work in Virginia. I submitted my application thinking receiving my rightful status as an in-state applicant would be the least of my troubles.
Imagine my surprise when I checked my SIS a few days ago and learned I had been determined ineligible for in-state privileges. Some mistake had happened, I thought. I'll just try and contact the office, right?
Well, a few days later, and no one has responded to my e-mail. Sifting through my e-mails, I searched for anything from UVA- to my horror, I suddenly came upon an e-mail from some guy who turned out to be from the UVA VA status committee that had been sent to my SPAM BOX asking for additional parent citizenship documentation by February 17 at the latest. THAT WAS 10 DAYS AGO. I never sent in a single document (thought I have them!!) because I hadn't seen the e-mail until today...
What should I do? I tried calling but no one picked up; I've already e-mailed them directly as well and haven't received a reply. I'm extremely scared. My application is good, but I NEED the in-state advantage on my application- if they read it as an out-of-state app, that could break my chances. Time is ticking. I feel sick. Any and all advice would be appreciated.

Go ahead and send the requested documents and enclose a statement about the SPAM filter. Keep trying to contact the “some guy” who sent you the SPAM/letter. Mistakes happen. Just do your best.
