<p>i have to write a dbq by tomorrow but I have no idea how to start this! can somebody please give me reasons/ ideas please??</p>

The United States decision to drop an atomic bomb on Hiroshima was a diplomatic measure calculated to intimidate the Soviet Union in the post-Second-World-War era rather than a strictly military measure designed to force Japan's unconditional surrender.</p>

<p>Evaluate the statement using the documents and your knowledge of the military and diplomatic history of the years 1939 through 1947.</p>

<p>My suggestion is to look in a workbook (Barron’s, 5 Steps to a 5, Princeton, etc.) to see how to write an effective DBQ. If you don’t have any of these, I’m sure there are some informative websites out there.</p>
