URGENT: I need some essay grammar help!!!

Is this sentence correct with regards to the commas within the quotation. Does anyone have a definitive answer? All help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Besides, hearing my camper say “If you and me stick together, we could make the NBA someday buddy,” was at least twice as satisfying as hearing it from a professional scout.

First I'd work on the content, then the punctuation. Your sentence doesn't make sense.

My sentence does in the context of my whole essay, and that is not what I asked. I just wanted to know if the punctuation makes sense.

If you and (I) not me

you sentence make sense
but not just punctuation..
it's "you and I" not "you and me"
also take away the comma behind buddy

"Your sentence doesn't make sense?". I HATE it when people blatantly criticize others when full aware of the fact that they have no positive contribution or correction. The guy asked if his sentence was correct. If not, could you possibly render any help. He didn't say, "Hello, tell me my sentence doesn't make sense!"

Here's my correction: Besides, hearing my camper say, "If we stick together, we could make the NBA someday buddy" was twice as satisfying as it would probably sound coming from a professional scout.

I put "probably" because you don't know how it feels coming from a professional scout(I'm assuming).

To those of you who contributed something positive, thanks for your advice. I very much appreciate it.

i think you and I sound better than we actually ..
yes, we is simpler
but it's just the feeling...my 2 cents

but don't you think saying "you and I" sounds a little gratuitous. Saying "you and I" when you could simply put "we" would seem like you're just trying to take up a lot of space...................my 2 cents:).
