URGENT International Financial Statement Form

USC requires a banking form and my dad cannot have it ready right now.
is it okay if i hand it in a little bit late? does anyone know when is the last date to submit this form?
also, i cant find this form online... like i dont know how to fill it out online..
so do i fax this to USC?

pllleeeasssse can anyone reply

Here is the form: http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/private/1011/Form8_2010.pdf

I have no direct experience or information about International admissions, but from posts over that last two years I have gathered that you must submit the form before they can issue a letter of admission. Go ahead and submit your application and all supplemental materials. Have your dad finish up the form and send it in. I would think anything before the end of December should be okay as the form is not used in considering your application - but hopefully an actual International student can pop in here and either confirm or give the correct information.

Good luck!

I called up the Office of Admissions a while ago with the same question (I’m also international) and what I was told is that it’s definitely NOT part of the admission process and thay they WILL come to an admission decision without it, but they won’t release that decision until they have the form.

So with that logic, it should be OK so send it in February (or as late as you dare!)…although I’m not waiting that long and I don’t suggest you do!

I’ll be submitting mine sometime late december (as alamemom suggested would be OK) and I’m pretty sure that will be fine.

Hope that helped!

Wait but it says in the Financial Statement form that

“The U.S. dollar amount of any Merit/Academic Scholarship awarded to an international student may be deducted from the $52,118 total.”

So how am i supposed to know the amount to put on the form?
it’s because i don’t know if my parents will be able to finance the total cost but i’m pretty positive that i’ll get some sort of scholarship…

From that statement it seems to me that we turn in the form after we get the scholarship notifications early next year? or is it not?

please~ anybody?

I’m not sure about that either to be honest. I think though that you do have to submit the form (proving that you can pay the full amount regardless of any scholarships) before a decision is relaeased and then if you do get a scholarship: 1) its a bonus! and 2) they will then deduct the amount from the final form required for you to get a visa.

Maybe its worth calling Admissions to get a concrete answer, but I’m pretty sure thats it. I’m in the same position and I’m having to somehow prove that I (well my parents) can afford the total amount.

Again, I have no International admissions information (adambedford is shaping up to be our Int. info-guy!), but I am familiar with the scholarship admission/interview/notification schedule. For the “big” scholarships, the general schedule is:

1) Letter of admission late January or first week of February.
2) Scholarship interview invitation about a week after letter of admission.
3) Scholarship interview late February/early March.
4) Scholarship notification late March/early April.

As you can see it all starts with the letter of admission, which according the the website, cannot be sent until the finances form is received. And you do not know if you have been awarded the scholarship until near April 1st. The scholarships that can be “deducted” on the form prior to admission might be referring to outside scholarships you have already been awarded. Perhaps there is an ajdustment in the above schedule for International students? I do not know.

I think adambedford has a good idea to call admissions - USC does this every year, so I am sure they have an answer handy. Good luck to all of you - one of the things that makes USC a great place to be is having students from all over the world.
