So i was told to list all schools (including UCs) that i am applying to on my naviance account, when i added the UCs it says "initial materials submitted" what does this mean? i do not recall sending and SAT/ACT scores etc to them :/

come on, someone?

over 100 views and no reply :(

The UC schools use a different admission process from most schools. The online application you fill out at first IS the initial material. You self-report your grades and other information, and then they confirm it later with the official transcripts (make sure that you get the grades right, because lying about them is an honor code offense and you’ll be kicked out before you even start). The initial application and the test scores are all you need until they contact you in January to complete your application by sending in other stuff. Don’t send in anything ahead of time, they won’t read it.

Consequently, as soon as you state that you are applying to a UC school, it shows that the initial materials have been submitted.

Wait- do you need to send official SAT reports to UC’s before or after you are accepted?

Sorry I made that confusing. You don’t have to send them in until after you are accepted. However, if you put them down to receive the scores when you take the test, that’s fine too. Don’t request additional scores to be sent until you get the acceptance.

I shouldn’t waste my 4 free reports on a uc then, right?

I don’t believe that is correct. You still need to submit your SAT scores. However if you are applying to multiple campuses, you only have to submit your SAT scores to one campus,

You don’t need to submit your transcript until you are accepted.
