There are only a few things that I would like the admission staff to know in regards to my application. The first is my SAT score. My SAT score (1700) was good given it was my first try at SAT, and that I had no formal coaching. I anticipated to retake the SAT in June 2011. But unfortunately, I missed the registration deadline due to some family problems. Therefore, I had to retake the SAT in October 2011 amidst my school exams. I had expected a score of at least 2000, but was struck at 1800. This was quite distressing for me, as I knew that I could have scored well if I had dedicated more time to preparation for the SAT. But that would have meant risking my grades in the school.

One more thing I want to explain is my Self-Reported Academic Record. Here in India, schools have an independent scoring system for grades 9 and 11. In grades 10 and 12, the marking for the Final Exams is uniform for those taking the exam under a particular board. My high school did not have grades, but numeric marks. I will try and explain our scoring system as much as I can here.

In grade 9, we had three (3) Terms - the first two were to test a part of the course studied, and the third one was for the complete course completed during the year. Our Theory exams were of maximum marks 40, and Internal Assessment accounted for maximum 60 marks, therefore completing to 100.

In grade 10, our exams under the Central Board Of Secondary Education. The grading system was as follows:
A1 - 91-100
A2 - 81-90
B1 - 71-80
B2 - 61-70
C1 - 51-60
C2 - 41-50
D - 33-40
E1 - 21-32
E2 - Below 20

In grade 11, we had two (2) Terms, the first one for half of the course, and the second one for the complete course covered during the year. The maximum marks were as follows:
Subject - Theory - Internal Assessment
English - 90 - 10
Mathematics - 100 - 0
Physics - 70 - 30
Chemistry - 70 - 30
Computer Science - 70 - 30

In grade 12, till now, we have taken just the I Term exams. Our final exams will be held in March 2012 under the Central Board Of Secondary Education. The marking was similar to that of grade 11.

I have entered my marks by rounding off the sum of Theory and Internal Assessment. For example, my score in English in I Term of grade 9 was 32/40 and 52.5/60 for Theory and Internal Assessment respectively. Therefore, the sum is 84.5, but since I cannot enter this figure in the application, I have rounded-it off to 85.

Another thing I would like you to understand is about my academic performance. Till the grade 8, I was the topper of my class, attaining 90% or more marks. After that my performance plummeted a little, and has been almost stable ever since. This has been due to a hobby that I took up back then. I started blogging in grade 9, and finally built a professional technology blog ([GeekZu - Internet, Software And Web Apps](http://www.geekzu.com/)) in grade 10. I have been working on the blog everyday spending hours and hours daily improving it, and writing more content. Anyhow, I have managed to maintain a decent academic score and a blog simultaneously. I have also been engaged in Internet Marketing, and have made a few hundred dollars online. I regularly produce original music and sell it online.

Hence, I have taken up a lot of things, and have managed to work upon all of them side by side and made sure that none of them had a severe effect on the other.
