URGENT!! Need help filling the application. "Self-Reported Academic Record"!!

Hello

I'm Karan Goel, an Indian, applying to GaTech for Fall 2012 term.

I'm having a little trouble figuring out how to go about filling out the "Self-Reported Academic Record" section of the application. I have already uploaded my official transcript, but have no idea how to fill in the details.

I have attached the transcript of my Grade 9 with this post as a sample of what our transcripts look like. Please tell me how do I put in the Grades obtained any course in any semester, since we had our exams of 40 marks, and not 100 (We do not have grades, but numeric marks).

Grade 9 - 9.pdf

Thanks and Regards,
Karan Goel

BUMp. Please people you’ve got to help me.

Not sure if it will help, but look at this link
[Academic grading in India - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Academic grading in India - Wikipedia)

There is a table that gives equivalents of marks to American grades. Not sure if that is the same 40 marks system you have, but it might give you some ideas.

No, actually, in grades 9 and 11, schools have an independent marking scale. We have exams of 40 marks in our school, others had maybe 60, 80, 90 or 100…

I tried calling GaTech, but their representative hung up the phone.

I’m not sure really what to make of this. When I applied early, you could upload a transcript ( located at the top of self reported academic record[srac]). I would definatly upload it and fill in the best to your ability for that year on the srac. You could also explain your situation in the additional info page of the application (I want to say it was page 5). Good luck!

Hi

I have uploaded the complete transcript already. Alright, I’ll add the details in the additional details page.

Anyone has any other work arounds?

Help, help, help…

My memory is that each grade level has a blank where you insert your school’s grading scale for that year.

I would use that spot as best as you can, self report your grades as appropriate, and then use the space provided for additional information (I think it’s the essay portion) to explain the grading scale as well as you can, and give some examples.

They have no doubt see many applicants from your country so they will be familiar with your system.

As I said, in grades 9 and 11, we have no standard “system” per se. Every school has a different scaling system, and we did not have grades. SO, I have no idea what to do with grades.

ANyhow, I’ll just write something in the Additional Info area.

I’ve written the thing, but it’s way long.

It’s currently ~3400 characters, and the limit is just 200 characters.

Someone help me shrink it:
