Urgent! Please, help with the Williams online fee waiver!

I already submitted my application to Williams, but I have some problems with the payment part. I mailed a fee waiver request from my counselor and also filled in the section from the supplement where they asked about fee waivers. However, on the common application site, under payment, I have only 2 fee waiver options:Nacac and Collegeboard. Other colleges also had a 'other' option. What should I do, since I don't use any of these forms? I know Williams cannot receive my application until I submit a payment form, so please help me as soon as possible, so I don't miss the deadline.

I dont understand. What kind of fee waiver request did your counselor send?

Just put other if it wasn't collegeboard or NACAC

They still get the application without the fee. They (Common App) consider it incomplete without the fee. If you submitted a little note on the Williams supplement, which is one of the few supplements that has a space for requesting a fee waiver, and your counselor is sending an official fee waiver, I think you'll be alright not paying and Williams will consider it complete. It doesn't matter what the Common App says, it matters what Williams says.

I think the application cannot be viewed by Williams (or any school) because the Common Application doesn't really send it until a payment option is selected. It happened to me with my early school and they told me that.

The reason I don't select 'other' is simply because the button doesn't work in the Williams section. This is precisely what I tried to explain earlier.

I still don't know what to do.

I would go ahead and try submitting it at the CA site. I know someone who ran into this problem, submitted without any payment/fee waiver checked, and their submisson went through and has already been downloaded. Williams downloads applications quite quickly. Give it some time and see if it gets downloaded. If not, you could mail a printed copy later today.

Fudge!
I applied to Richmond hoping to get the Richmond Scholars scholarship, and the deadline was the 15th. I submitted everything before the 15th, except the payment since I received a fee waiver there. The admission officer even emailed my college counselor, and just said we should attach a formal letter in our application package which I did. So was my application accepted before the 15th even though I put fee waiver other after seeing this thread just now? Or is that payment just for Common App Purposes not necessarily for the college's purpose ? By the way it says my application was downloaded on 12/12.

danhernan, you're fine. The fees and fee waivers are for the school, not the Common App site itself. Good luck with getting that scholarship!

angelutza, I thought it was worth a try and sent an e-mail off to Williams. There is actually someone there working. Regarding the place to enter your fee waiver she replied, "It's on the fourth page of the common application: under "other required information". Otherwise, select any of the waiver options."

So, if you can't submit without clicking on some sort of payment button, just click any of the fee waiver buttons that will work for you. Good luck with all your applications!
