Would community college courses still taken for high school credit (e.g. Calc II) go under "coursework other than a-g"? How about courses taken over the summer at Stanford (e.g. intro to human physiology)?

yes...i reported my cc courses in their respective a-g areas...also dont they ask you to list all academic instituions or something? i think when you list them it allows you to ewnter individual courses for each school or someting like that

I don't remember much about applying (I applied a couple years ago), but I think you're right. I took a couple of non A-G courses, and I just put them under coursework other than A-G. It was funny, because I omitted a LOT of the non A-G courses I took completely by accident. Your Stanford courses would also be listed under non A-G courses, but you should list Stanford under academic institutions attended.

Calc II should go under math. Math is one of the a-g subject areas. Use the "courses other than a-g" for those college courses that do not fit under a-g subjects. Just do your best, admissions officers will rearrange stuff if they deem it necessary for further evaluation.
In my case, when I applied last year, that's exactly what I did and there was no problem with it.

Don't you mean, "no"? notice: "coursework OTHER than a-g"

What should an international student do? I have no idea what the A-G coursework entails, but I took a Debate class and a Literature class at a local college while at school. Would this count?

OP:

Add the colleges to your list, and then list under teh appropriate discipline heading.

Lux: Debate would be a-g elective. Lit would be english, assuming it was taught in Eng.

bluebayou:

Lit was actually a Science Fiction Literature seminar taught in Spanish; should I list it? And if Debate is an A-G elective then I guess it doesn't count as coursework other than A-G, does it?

One last thing: I took a gap year to work and travel, and have been atending Mandarin classes at a Berlitz Institute in Sydney for two months now. Should I list this too?

Thank you (so much!) for your help.

yes, you can list the Berlitz course under Other than A-G.

I would also list the Lit-Span course under 'Other than A-G' and then desribe it (in a couple of words) in the Other section.

Okay. Thanks for the advice!

Hey, does somebody know whether I should list these places in the Academic History section? The local college where that offered the seminar, and the Berlits were I'm studying Mandarin, I mean?

How about a high school that I attended during an exchange program that lasted only 6 weeks, and during which I didn't receive any actual grades? (in fact, it was my summer break when I went there).
