I sent my Princeton application package by overnight express using Fedex on Dec. 29th... And it was supposed to be delivered to Princeton Admissions office today.

Unfortunately, the university is closed today and tomorrow as well as the new year. And Fedex will not deliver or pick up any packages on Saturday nor Sunday. So, all my documents will get to Princeton on the monday (Jan 3rd), which is one day late than the deadline, January 2nd.

Princeton said that students applying to the university should have their mails in by the 2nd. Do you think they will accept my application package since I have the date (Dec. 29) I sent it?

Thank you for your replies and concerns.

The deadline is a postmark deadline, so no worries.

Thank you for your reply. But, doesn't the application booklet tell you to send it in by January 2nd? Other universities explicitly mention the postmark deadline, but Princeton one has no sign of it.

post offices are closing tomorrow at 6 pm, correct?

anybody know if Fedex works on New Year's?

One person I know sent the ED app on Nov 2nd by courier (deadline was Nov 1st). He had no problems.

Thanks guys... anyways, MzLover3, i got a call from Fedex that they won't be working on New Year's

do you guys know the correct street address for Princeton?

Princeton University
Office of Undergraduate Admissions
West College
Princeton, NJ 08544
USA

That is the address from which decision letters were mailed.

i dont think they'll mind if its jan 3rd

The street address is 110 West College. So the correct address will be:

Princeton University
Office of Undergraduate Admissions
110 West College
Princeton, NJ 08544
USA

See I wondered about that. Due to a mix up by the adcoms, I recieved two admissions decisions - one from 110 West College, the other 230 West College, so I just left it open. I assumed that the number referred to a room, not a street - as West College is the name of a building.

MacroKim -stop worrying. As long as you put your application in the mail before January 2nd, you'll be fine.

220 West College is the Financial Aid Office. I assume 230 was also a letter from the financial aid department. 110 is officially the Admissions Office, and it is also the address you should use to Fedex your application.

No, they were identical copies of the admission letter, though the one from 230 was the one sent specially because they screwed up with the first one (it got sent to my high school, though I graduated in may). I suppose the standard one is 110.

Thanks for all the reply, I checked the Princeton website and verified that the Admission Office is 110 West College (building's name; no street address was given). The reason I'm worrying about this is that I sent this package by an overnight express (FedEx).
When I first sent the application, I just put in the PO Box number. FedEx said that they couldn't deliver it just by looking at the box number. So, the mail wasn't delivered on the 30th. They also said that the University was closed and FedEx will not be delivering on Saturday and on Sunday. So, the delivery will be on monday.
I'm just hoping that they will be able to find the Admission Office just by knowing the building's name...

relax dude pton isn't an obscure place :p they get tons of fedexes daily.....
