Urgent question!

If I attend a community college in the US, when transfering to a 4-year insitution It will be 4 years in total, correct?

2 years at the CC and 2 years at the University.
Taken into consideration that I have completed all the pre-reqs.

I heard that it'd would be 6 years, 2 at the cc and 4 at the university.
Is this true?

Its usually 2 + 2.

Are the community college and the 4-year school in the same state? If not, then you may not be able to transfer all the credits you earned at the CC, possibly forcing you to retake classes, which would put you at the 4-year school longer than 2 years. But yes, if all credits transfer and you need to do no more than 36 credits at the most, then you should be able to graduate in the typical 4 years.

Yes, it's possible to take courses at a community college for two years and then transfer to a four-year college for the final two years. But be careful when you're picking your courses. There's usually a list of which courses from a public, two-year school will transfer to the instate four-year colleges.

its usually 2 + 2, but sometimes it takes people longer at either or both schools to finish their requirements or if they have double majors or whatever. but 4 years total is the norm and is completely doable in most circumstances.

check with the school you plan on transferring to and see what courses they have for general requirements. some schools will screw you over and only take half the courses you took at community college. it happened to a couple of friends of mine at my school and they are like one semester behind because of that. so definitely follow up with the school your considering to transfer to.
