Urgent - TOEFL for internationals

Is the TOEFL required for all international applicants (to any university)? I'm an Indian and have written the SATs.

Many universities don't require the toefl if you have a certain score on the SAT writing/critical reading. It depends for each uni though.

I took it anyway, just in case.

I scored CR:600 and Writing:610.

I had written the TOEFL over 2 years ago; so it is no longer valid. What do I do?

Find out if the universities you're applying to waive the TOEFL if your SAT CR is 600. Just look at their webpages or send e-mails if you don't find the info.

Also, I think most universities waive the TOEFL requirement if you studied at a school with English as the language of instruction.

Don't forget that some schools don't waive automatically - you'll need to request it.

Generally, TOEFL is required in top unis. Know not if India has old TOEFL, but IBT is the most prevalent In top 50.
Take the test! If you really eager to obviate it, check the policy on Website of particular schools (there is no permission of high SAT score while no/low TOEFL score. They would suspect you even cringe to TOEFL)

Thanks for all your replies. :)

I just registered for the Dec 7 TOEFL (IBT). Will my scores be available in time for Fall 2009 application.

yes. you should get them in 15 business days, so they'll reach in time.
