Hi,
Is TOEFL required for any US college or would a good score in SAT be sufficient? Would taking TOEFL help my chances even if i get 2200+ in SAT?

I thought that TOEFL was not needed for purdue, since my sat cr was higher than their English proficiency requirement but just yesterday, they had asked for my TOEFL scores. When I enquired about it, they stated that the reviewing counsellor had asked for the scores. It was a good thing that I had taken TOEFL beforehand. Also, some universities make it a necessity to submit TOEFL scores for international students such as UT Austin, whatever may be your SAT score. TOEFL also aids during your visa processing. So my humble advice to you is that prepare well before taking TOEFL so that you do not waste 155 dollars.

That’ll depend on the colleges you’ll be applying to, visit each college’s website to see any English proficiency requirements or just mail and ask the admissions office. Most top private colleges don’t require TOEFL or IELTS oe TOEIC or … whatever if you’ve been in an english speaking environment for 3 or more years, some mediocre colleges accept SAT as a substitution for TOEFL/IELTS and vice versa.

I am going to apply to only the Ivy+ (Safeties in India)so not gonna apply to UT-Austin or Purdue or any such colleges, so would taking TOEFL still be mandatory/

No, not at all. As far as i know, all the ivies waive the TOEFL requirement for students from english medium secondary schools. What do you mean by “I am going to apply to only the Ivy+ (Safeties in India)”?

The best idea is to check the websites of the colleges you are planning to apply to. Personally, I have applied to 15 colleges and all of them waived the TOEFL for me based on my CR score and / or the fact that I have been attending an English medium secondary school. (My list had all but one of the Ivy League universities, so I know that none of them ask for the TOEFL)
