<p>I know that UCSD uses a formula and a point system..and if u have more than 7700, you're admitted..i want to ask if this is actually true.
so if u have 7700+ points in the UCSD point system, are u guaranteed a spot? or do they also base it on essays, sports, etc?</p>

<p>And no. 7700+ points does not guarantee you admission. They award points to every applicant, and they take the top # of people they need. I’m sure 7700 is pretty high among UCSD applicants however.</p>
