<p>Um, not sure.. I am Bengali which is basically South Asian descent and I didn't put my race or any other info down since Asians are overrepresented in universities.. we will find out soon though.. so b asically my answer is no but that is just me</p>
<p>Universities consider URM's to be African-Americans, Hispanics, and Native-Americans, since these are very underrepresented minorities. Asians make up the largest part of minorities, but we're not Over-represented, I don't think... Unfortunately, being Indian doesn't make you a URM. However, it wouldn't REALLY hurt you at Vandy since the asian population is like 7% I think? Thank goodness they still want diversity 'cause I'm asian, too. :)</p>
<p>Yes, I agree. URMs refer to Pacific Islanders, Blacks, Hispanics, Native Americans.</p>
<p>Asians - Indian, Oriental, Bengali, etc - have NO minority status.</p>
