I am applying to an ivy league school early decision but I'm also applying to a UK school.
Does the early decision agreement bind me from accepting UK schools too?
Or does it only apply to universities in the states?
If I do get in early decision, will I be blacklisted if I break the agreement to go to a UK school?
And, if I am blacklisted, will that influence my application for graduate school later on?
I have no idea what to do :( Everyone's been telling me different things.
Please help!!!

I’m applying to Stanford SCEA. At the same time, I just submitted my completed application to the University of Cambridge. This is perfectly acceptable under Stanford’s Early Action policy:

I’m assuming that your ED university’s conditions wouldn’t be any different. But if you are accepted ED, you must attend the school unless you have financial issues.

The above from Stanford is inapplicable to ED because Stanford does not have ED but only non-binding EA.

Under ED, you are required to accept admission and withdraw “all” other applications if accepted. That includes applications to foreign institutions.

As a practicable matter, the ED school cannot really do anything to you if you choose not to attend and go to a foreign college. If you later apply to grad school to it, it will still likely have a record of your breaking the ED agreement and could consider that against graduate admission. However, it will have no impact on any other college.

Nevertheless, if you want to be perceived as a person with integrity do not apply ED to a college unless your intent is to attend at the exclusion of all other colleges
