US history- easiest SAT II

Its seems like this is everyone's highest score. Do you think its easier to get close to an 800 on it than other tests?

With absolutely zero prep, S took WH after AP Euro and scored a 790.

bluebayou, how is that possible? I hear only 20% of the material in world history is covered by AP euro...

US history is the easiest SAT.

all it requires is common sense. The more u have, the better you score

That's not really true look at the percentiles. A 700 is 58th percentile on the IIC but 76th on US. An 800 is 90 on the IIC and 98 on the Us History. It is definatly not the easiest SAT for the general population. A friend of mine who is good at history generally didn't manage better than a 550.

atom:

actually, just the opposite. AP Euro covers 65-80 of world hist. His teacher gave the class a WH textbook, and recommended which chapters to self-study for SATII, but S never cracked the book.

Did he ever take a global history course? Doesn't have to be AP, just any class. Just curious. If not, that would be quite miraculous.

Frosh year, our HS has world hist/cultures course, but it wasn't WH as I remember it. My guess is that last year's AP Art History helped more so than Frosh hist, since so much of art was history.

this is COLLEGE CONFIDENTIAL, though it may SEEM like u.s history is the easiest SAT II, there is a reason why it has a -8 800 curve, sigh, no one ever understands that, when you are thinkin "oh my look at hte high scores" and you suddenly make a correlation you are TOTALLY using bias results. Students on this website, for one millionth time, are at the top of their class (including me) and the people that post their scores are the ones that def. did very well (while there are some exceptions to people who post and did not, it is a majority thing i'm talking about here). so yea..

US is actually my lowest SAT score...I have an 800IIC, 790 Chem, and....740 US Hist. So no, I don't think it's easier - tests very specific information, etc.

I thought US History was actually pretty hard. There was a lot we hadn't covered, and I wound up only getting a 630. Literature is probably the easiest test. It's one that takes absolutely no preparation.

i got a 750 on history with a year of AP as prep, but math ii was way frigging harder

This is probably common sense, but your easiest SAT II is going to be (usually) your best subject... US History was my worst, out of SAT II Writing, Math IIC, Physics, and US.

Fair enough, still though, it seems (for example) that a lot of ppl on this site bomb SAT II Literature. Maybe SAT II US History just correllates more accurately with general studying + effort and thus CCers do the best on it

US is not the easiest.
After getting an A in APUSH...

I got a 660.

I think it's because it was AP week and I was stressed...
