Hey guys i'm new here,

I'm gonna b taking the USH this october, and i'll b taking regular (not AP) USH class as a junior

I was wondering wut books would help me self-study for this test, since I won't b gettin any help from school

thanks

Really depends on how high you want to score...US History by AMSCO is a great book and if you know it inside out then a 700+ is coming your way. Thing is that AMSCO is an AP review book, and you will find a lot of info redundant-especially if you aren't taking AP USH next year. Many people prefer the comfort of over preparing so you may want to consider AMSCO.

I have heard Barron's is not so good on history along with Kaplan. REA is a good book, but like AMSCO, it has a lot of information.

Sparknotes is actually pretty good and helped me get a 790, but is only good for review. Princeton Review is generally a good middle ground for review and learning. As you are only taking regular USH next year, I would recommend checking out REA or maybe even AMSCO if you are willing to put a bit of extra time in.

I have a few friends in AP USH with A's who took the SAT II and got low 600s...so I would make sure that you over-prepare rather than under-prepare.

Good luck!
