--- US History Subject Test Review Thread ---

B or E ^^ (10 char)

C… Admiral Cervera fought in Cuba during the Spanish-American War, so I don’t think he has anything to do with the Phillipines.

wow i never heard of any of those that was just posted

hey should i know the EXPLORERS (not the countries or what they did) of the new world?

what is the joint stock thingy with the colonies?

what was the whig party?

Well, Blaine was the leader of the Half-Breeds, which were opponents of the Stalwarts, so I don’t see how “Stalwarts” contribute to Blaine’s leader. I’ll go with E.

also what is a political party lol
someone said that was something the constituation wanted to avoid?

also what are some speacial traits of the populist party?

I’ve always thought political parties to be necessary to maintain a democracy, so I doubt it’s something the Constitution wanted to avoid…

C is the correct answer.

Is anything beyond Reagan being asked in great depth like middle eastern conflicts?

There is very little beyond Reagan. If you know everything up to that point you will easily get an 800.

can someone clear this up?
did the constituation not want political parties?

if not, then who did?

i know some type of constitution, or group didnt want the political parties

Hey should i know the explorers for this test?

and what the heck is the whig party?!?! (so confused)

^ Whigs were basically anti-Jacksonians.

I don’t think the Constitution specifically mentioned political parties, but the framers thought that political parties were evil.

Regarding explorers, does anybody have a definitive answer to the former question? I know Columbus. Heard of Descartes and some other randoms…but idk haha.

if the framers were against political parties
dosent that make the constitution against it?

cause framers were people who made up the constitution

woot!!! i got 780 on official CB practice test!~ yeahhh babayyy

does unprecedented affluence mean a big un-ending supply of?

(P.S congratulations on getting 780 but this is not a celebrations thread. this thread becomes pointless is people start posting there scores)

does anyone know if REA’s Crash Course for APUSH works just as well for the SATII USH Subject test?

^ I hope it does, I’m using it lol.

Let’s ask a question…

“Name the differences b/w Washington and DuBois’ views on black equality.”

@stuntburn I don’t think the constitution specifically states political parties are unconstitutional. It was something George Washington warned about when he was leaving office (one of his precedents) but obviously it didn’t work.

BTW - self help. Every black must raise himself up.

DuBois - talented tenth. The top blacks will succeed, in turn helping everybody else up.

Didn’t one of the two focus more on economic independence vs. social + political?

I think it was W.E.B. but I’m not sure… gotta go look that up.

EDIT:

Just checked, it was actually Washington that stressed economics (Atlanta Speech)
