*has been.

Princeton will stay #1 baby!

"mrsopresident... You'd be right if Cornell had a 100% yield... however, this is not the case and so according to collegeboard.com.... the SAT average is sadly 1385."

according to the collegeboard, those stats are from last year. so, when they repost them this year for accepted students, you're going to see the difference.

and if cornell's average sat was 1385 for class of 2010 with, as you suggest, its "low" yield, don't you think that it will raise this year being that the average sat for class of 2011 (accepted applicants) rose from the average sat of accepted applicants from last year? do the math.

Biola University will jump from 4th Tier to 3rd Tier as they will now be reporting all of their information. That's a pretty big jump.

^I agree with that.

The app data is reflected a year late, dudes. IE US News 2008 will be judging based on applications to the Class of 2010

I think/hope Penn will be benefitting from the staggering 20% increase in applications for the class of 2010.

But it's all garbage anyway.

Unless my school does well, that is ;)

Northwestern similarly saw an 18% increase in applicants, while peer schools hovered only around 8%

Northwestern and Penn... maybe it's a national surge in preprofessionalism ;)

As long as my school takes UF's current spot, I'm good with that. I'm a huge Gators fan though so I want UF to move up regardless :)

some move up some move down

That may be a bold prediction, but I expect Carnegie Mellon (currently ranked 21st ?) to jump into the top 20 list.

Wash U and Northwestern should go up and UChicago should go down. HYPM will almost always be one of the first.

UVA will be the top Public school

bing is not going up....no one knows about this school outside of ny

It's known somewhat in the northeast--by me in Philly. It's not a very well known school though.

Binghampton is expanding a lot, increasing by 10k more students in the upcoming years...so, it will rise at some point.

Duffman, do you think stony brook can go up
