US undergrad w/ canadian citizenship

Hi
I’m a biochem major at Bowdoin College with a very competitive GPA and a 33 MCAT. Although I’ve completed all of my undergraduate studies in the US, I am a Canadian citizen. Will this seriously hinder my chances? Any advice?
Thanks for your help.

I don't think it's much of an obstacle at all. We still love Canadians :)

Ah, but do they love us? LOL

Well, I think they love to say they don't, but I never worry about it anymore. Ever since I saw a CBC documentary on the Canadian Navy I've been at peace with the prospects of their continued friendship.

Firstly anti-american sentiment is a relatively new thing in canada and spiked in the last year or two after the split over the war in Iraq. Secondly the canadians and americans are not as disimilar as you would have yourself believe. Although generally somewhat more liberal, maybe along socal lines, they share a very similar cutural background and you probably couldn't tell a canadian from an american unless they were displaying a Canadian flag on their knapsac.

I think I know that pretty darn well. Canadians are more than 1st cousins to us, they are brothers. And like brothers, we don't always agree, but the relationship is permanent and caring. I've travelled all over Canada, having missed only the 3 territories.

Anyone who doesn't understand our kinship would do well to watch and listen to Rt. Honorable Brian Mulroney's eulogy of President Reagan.

Oh, and BTW, when I was hanging out in Europe for a year in the 70s, at times it seemed there were as many Americans with Canadian flags on their knapsacks as there were Canadians with the Maple Leaf. It just decreased the hassle factor.

I lived in Toronto for more than a few years, and trust me, anti-American sentitment is more than a just a recent "thing." But, the negative feelings are directed towards the "government," not the people. There is a kinship between the two nations unlike most any other relationship, but there is also an underlying current that we have exported so much of our cultural products that it is virtually impossible to escape it.

Firstly concerned Dad it depends what group you are hanging out with in toronto. If you hang out at the empire club, or that waspie boat club I am sure that you would find a strikingly pro-american sentiment. If on the other hand you ventured into the danforth area you would find a very anti-american sentiment. Remember there are bastion's of anti-americanism within the city because, in general newly arrived canadians take there anti-american sentiment with them from their countries of origin. Most of rural Canada is as conservative as the mid-west. To be fair anti-bush sentiment is no less alive in new england than it is in Canada.
