<p>I would not feel doomed just yet. My letter only arrived the 7th, which I mistakenly thought was way past the notification deadline. Depending on where you live, it may take longer for the letter to arrive. Also, I don't know if this is weird or not but I did not receive any email notification like some of you received with the USA Funds Scholarship. </p>

<p>As far as when I applied, I postmarked my letter exactly 2 days after the application was posted online. I agree, timing of application is important. Had I waited a week or two, I probably wouldn't have gotten it. </p>

<p>My EFC was almost 800.</p>

<p>i don't even know if my school has received my check yet.. it is pretty slow at updating payments into my account anyways.</p>

<p>for example, i know for sure it received this check from another scholarship but it hasn't shown up on my account yet</p>

<p>If I recall correctly, in the past the check came right at the end of August to our house (made out to DS and his college).</p>

<p>Both my sons were awarded the scholarship this year and neither have received the money yet. I'm guessing it will be arriving soon.</p>

<p>I think I read it somewhere that everyone gets their check in the mail except for those who go to Harvard, Stanford, yale, princeton, and maybe some other ones</p>

<p>Well it says in the letter:</p>

<p>"Your award will be paid by Scholarship America in one installment. The award is to be applied qually to fall and spring terms. The check will be payable to your school for your account and mailed to your permanent home address by Aug. 30. If you do not receive your check by mid-september, please contact Scholarship America."</p>

<p>Its August 30th.. hm.</p>

<p>Both my sons received their checks in the mail on Saturday. We live in Minnesota.</p>
