USC 2009 transfer thread

In talking to a sppd rep, its just as competitive. If not they may be a lil more selective becuse it is a smaller school, so they take fewer apps. She told me that it wasn't until last year that they really started taking transfer students, so hopefully it will change for the better this year. She also shared with me that their hoping to take more transfers this year, than last. But its still kinda new to sppd. Hopefully that helps, that's what they've shared with me from the sppd reps. Good luck!

oh yea usc09 someother guy shared with me what he found out:
I think they are looking for two type of people A) the capitalist with intentions of hitting it big in real estate B) the politician who cares about the sustainability of a community through the development of a policy that will give rise to a healthy political environment, economy, and equal income distribution. Obviously this is not all inclusive, thus there are other type of people they are looking for (The health administration type.)

And last year they recieved a little over 100 apps and took about 20-35 of then, and that was transfers alone. If you have anymore ?, I can try my best to answer them as I got to the rep well, as well as the program

wow madsc11, you've found out a LOT of good info. thanks!

i'm jealous that a lot of other people have had a status update! mine has stayed the same since i submitted part II!

^^^ don't worry about the status updates, a representative from the office of admissions told me the people getting updates right now are those that are missing things from their application or something is wrong with it.

they are accepting more transfers this year for sppd?? sweet!! haha

and you guys USC won yesterday!! woo :) they beat Boston College 72-55

tomorrow(sunday) at 2pm PST they are playing number 2 seeded Michigan St

I know yayy!! they won!!! tomorrow is going to be a good game.

Tomorrow should be a real physical uptempo game. Mich St. is a good team, so it's going to be tough. Hopefully we can pull it out.

oh sh

yeah I am hoping for the upset! :)

in my bracket I have them winning it all (I never want to ever think that they could possibly lose haha)

people who have recently had a status update and had a link saying they're missing documents were accepted..

dnt know about that one

I think thats for freshman. I dont think that any transfers have been accepted yet. We arent really going to hear back until april may, possibly june.

lamchops-

Are you referring to the fact that it is possible for those who have had a link saying that they were missing documents so close to the period of acceptance were still accepted? If so, then yes.

But, if you are referring to students, now, who have had a link saying that they are missing document and were accepted, then, this may be for students who are in Vertibri (sp); it was mentioned earlier on this thread that they would hear earlier than students from other colleges at USC.

You are either speaking of them, freshman, or people that are not on this thread. I don't even know if our application are looked at until after April 1st.

Yeah, I highly doubt they've taken a good look at our apps considering they have 35,000+ freshman apps to be making decisions on BY may 1st.

that is so crazy. so its may 1st then, not april 1st?

Has anybody heard, or know of anybody who did not receive an SGR (Spring Grade Request) and just got accepted into USC? (obviously as a transfer)

Or rejected for that matter?

CaptainRodeo, the frosh should be mailed decisions by April 1st so I'm assuming USC has most of their decisions done much earlier and then just sends them out

There's a new video on YouTube called "USC Admissions PKG." It's by Annenberg and there were two hundred less applicants this year, so they are increasing the number of people accepted.
