USC 2009 transfer thread

i think we should throw a party when we get accepted :)
whats better than some usc girls, some jack, and a group of the best CCer's altogether? :D

wow, count me in.

for two years.

boom. :D

zircushio, that idea SOUNS AMAZING.

i sent my high school transcript 3 times now to them, and still the website says that im missing it. i even spoke to admissions twice and they had confusion on their parts. i'm going to try again on monday, but if not, then i wouldnt want to go to such an unorganized school anyways

Grey- two years. Hell yea. I'm waiting for that pizza party. It's gonna happen. Oh, and loller, they have a lot of people applying. A lot. I'm sure that they will get everything organized and I am sure that they know they are not perfect, and probably that something may have been misplaced or what not. :)

Hey everyone! I’ve been reading this thread from the jump but this is my first post. Have any of you applied to Annenberg? And is anyone planning on transferring from the East Coast?

Btw-good luck to everyone!

TTYLA - i’m not applying to annenberg, however, i’m transferring from the east coast if i get in :D

TTYLA - I applied to Annenberg and I’m from the East Coast…well Southeast actually.

wow, the USC transfer thread moved down like 6 jumps from where it was at :(

I’m from Portland OR but my current university (Emory) is in Atlanta GA so I guess that’s sort of east coast? haha

oh and zircushio- im down for that

Hey TTYLA, I applied to Annenberg too. Im on the west coast though.

Everyone…

How likely do u think the prospective Juniors will get a SGR? Is it more likely than not, even if you have had consistently good grades over the past semesters?

Maximum89 - Prospective juniors will tend to usually receive SGR’s only if their are major prereq’s in progress that spring semester/quarter. Sophomores make up the bulk of these SGR’s though since some they don’t have both the sufficient units and prerequisites still in progress.

So to answer your question about the likeliness, it really depends on if you were able to fulfill all or some of the major prerequisites. If you fulfilled all your major prerequisites and have a steady good GPA then most likely you won’t be getting a SGR.

is it fair to say that if you get accepted once that you will get accepted again?

for example, im a freshman, and if i get accepted as a sophomore transfer but dont get in, as long as i keep my grades up, will i get accepted as junior transfer?

justchill - no, it’s not fair to say that. Anything can really change depending on the next year’s pool of applicants, number of admissions, your grades, and etc. But if you did get accepted as a sophomore transfer then why not go? If you keep your grades up at the steady pace at which you were accepted previously then you might have a great chance on being accepted again. Yet there is still a possibility that they might deny you from the factors I’ve stated above.

My recommendation is that if you do get accepted as sophomore standing then take it because it will save you the hassel to reapply again and it will also save you the chance of being denied if you were to reapply.

Ok cool that makes sense. Thanks MakeBank24!

so my mom is making plans to go on a trip in August
but she is planning to leave the 15th

I told her I can’t go and she said why
I replied: “because I am going to be busy. Move-in day for USC is August 19th”

let’s hope everyone else is busy on that day :)

god it seems so far away…i can’t believe that they would make some of us wait until the month before move-in day! it’s horrible.

Some people might find out like mid-July right? That sucks, wouldn’t that mean they would miss transfer orientation?! I think its like the first two weeks in July.

A friend of mine found out that she got in around the first week of august last year…

so cruel…
