Transferring from a CC as a sophmore Major: B.A. in Health and Humanity…will hopefully have a 3.8 or so by the end of the fall semester. By the end of fall semester I will have 21 transferrable units completed. My high school records were okay (3.3 unweighted GPA, a couple of APs, A LOT of ECs and volunteering)
AT CC:
Transfer Alliance/Honors Program
Tau Alpha Epsilon (TAE)
Volunteering at Good Samaratin hospital(USC)

I am going to have about 42 transferrable units by the end of the spring semester.

And I have 1 question:
Do I still need to enter my SAT scores and other test scores…Im not sure b/c I dont have the 30 units yet, but will have it by end of spring???

Yes, you will still have to to submit SAT scores and your admission decision will primarily be based on your HS performance. You must have 32 credits at the time of application to have your old record ignored.

Hello I need some advice on how to ask my professors for letters of rec…im applying to marshall and i’ve had a good relationship with my business and macroecon teacher while taking their classes (visited them in office hours and earned the TOP grade for their courses), but i haven’t really talked to them since end of last fall semester so it’s gonna be quite awkward. do i just go up to them and ask? or do i need some kind of bragsheet

Will it decrease my chances if I apply undeclared as a junior transfer? I mean, I put sppd as first choice on part I of the app, but I’m thinking, maybe I might wanna change it… And I heard that it’s frowned upon to have undecided applicants who are transferring as juniors… advice?

can you guys chance me? Im applying to marshall
going to have around 60 units with a GPA around 3.7
ECs: around 2000 hours at a weekend russian school (11 years and not sure if that will help my app)
100 hours hospital volunteer
ASO student government senator at my CC
environmental committee
PTK honors society
AGS honors society

Applying for the fall semester at USC. My question is this. If I finish my A.A. in the summer and want to jump straight to USC is that possible? I want to submit the application early but I would have to guess 3 semesters worth of grades. I’m sure there is a way around this Im just not sure what it is. Any tips of any kind would be appreciated.

i’m planning on transferring to usc from brown this year. the earliest i can get in is fall 2010 because they dont accept spring transfers but i really want to go to a school closer to home now. i’ve been researching and pepperdine accepts spring transfers so i was planning on applying there(or any other school that accepts spring transfers) so that maybe i can go there for the spring semester and then wait to see if usc accepts me for the fall. is this a dumb idea? please tell me what you think?!

Anybody know when the updated transfer brochure PDF will be online? Anybody get one at a USC transfer day? What was the average GPA for accepted transfers for Fall 09?

How early should I send my essay in? I want to take ample time but I also want to get it in early. What is the most common/best window to submit?

@tjacob: Don’t rush yourself. I went to a transfer day and they said there is no advantage to applying earlier. They won’t even start looking at our transfer apps until April. They focus on the freshman applications first. I’m not turning in my app until January.

did anyone get a fee waiver for their application? it just says put in our counselor but what do they know about our financial situation? if we pay for our application fee would that affect the amount of financial aid we get?

I’m gonna repost my question, just in case someone who didn’t see it before knows the answer. [:

So I have a question regarding Part I of the application. I originally said that I wanted to enter as a Sociology major, but now that I think about it, I’m considering a Philosophy (Ethics, Law and Value Theory) (I think that’s the one I mean) major. So what do I do? Can I resubmit Part I, or change it on Part II or something? And which major would help me get in the door, Philo or Soc (In other words, which major has the higher acceptance rate? I looked everywhere and couldn’t find a number.) Thanks!
