Hi, if I’m a film major and would like to transfer to USC, which college do you think would be better to transfer from? El Camino college or Orange Coast college? Are there any other colleges that would be better???..

I can’t vouch for OCC, but Santa Monica College and El Camino have the highest transfer rates to the CSU/UC/Private systems. SMC and ECC also have well established transfer and honor programs that will aid in the transferring process.

Thx for your advice… I’m so nervous because I plan on going to USC but it’s so difficult so I plan to enroll into a community college first then transfer to USC… Do you think I would have better chances that way?

i got one B this semester ugh. i’m applying as a sophomore with a current GPA of 3.77 :

fujiwarae86- I’m in the same boat. I’m a freshman who finished off my first semester with a 3.75 (one B). I don’t think we’re screwed.

@Curious person, i go to OCC and it’s a pretty good cc i guess. it has the highest transfer rates to the UC/CSU/CA private schools in the OC. but honestly though, i don’t really think it matters which cc u go to.

Well, I got a 4.0 this semester and an A in my pre-req (Political Science). Hope that is good enough…

nice knights, same here i got an A in 3 of my pre-req (business calc, econ, english) and ended with a 4.0 as well as playing on the CC’s baseball team

btw guys, is there any reason to apply earlier before the February 2nd deadline? I planned on just applying by like January 27th or something, should I apply earlier?

If I have not – or can NOT – complete(d) all the pre-reqs for Marshall by the end of next semester, am I allowed to take one of the classes over the summer at a notable 4 year university? I have certain (many, actually) pre-reqs to complete for my school now. Kind of torn as to what to do.

XoXoCC – I’ve been told that this is not allowed. Screws me up too.

so how did everyones fall grades turn out?

4.0 baby with 4 classes fall quarter :D

@nabiles, nah January 27th is completely fine, they don’t reviewing apps until late March and early April, so it’s not an issue, just try not to do the 31st or Feb 1st if you can avoid it just in case any glitches, sever floods, etc. occur. good luck!

3.685 on 12 credits, A- on one of the Marshall prereqs (taking the other 2 next semester)
:(

4.0 18 units yahh boii!

4.0 with 24 units this semester, yea KOBE’s #…

lakerforever24 thx… but i was thinking of going to a cc whereby the units are transferable to USC… i don’t understand why you said it doesn’t matter?

oh and also i was wondering is it easier to get accepted into USC if you apply as and open(undecided) major??? thank you so much for your advise…

^^IF your CC has an articulation agreement with USC (which almost all local CCs do), then it DOES NOT matter where you take your courses. as long as your courses transfer (which means if ur cc has an articulation agreement) , it doesn’t matter

what date does usc have to receive our transcript by? and whats the deal with the personalized forms with our transcript?
