@Kulakai haha okay thank you, I was worried there for a moment because I just had my school email them. ahah I was using firefox too, ill check today to see if i can log in finally.

@Laguna your courses will be easily confirmed by USC once you’ve turned in your college transcripts, so don’t worry.

@skyline, if u set something up for tommorow let me know

Ok good, so all SC gets from me is the IP/Planned courses. The rest they gather from the the college transcript… weird.

is it a bad idea to take the writing course equivalent to usc’s writing 130 during the last term?

@ernily - the writing course is a transfer requirement. You need to complete it before transferring to USC. As to when you take it prior to transferring, it does not matter.

@ernily - in response to kukalai’s response, it depends on which major you are applying to, if you are applying to Marshall, then they require the writing course as one of their prerequisites to CONSIDER you for admissions, and they WILL NOT review your application until you have completed the course and sent them in your grade for the writing course. So if you planning on finishing it in spring, you will have to receive your grades at May/June or whenever you finish and then mail it to USC and THEN they will review your app, so you may hear a response back in mid/late June and even till mid July.

[I don’t know what other majors require it as a prerequisite as transfer]
hope this helps

Could I have my HS transcripts (along with Form 7) and my college transcripts sent before I complete the application (Part II) for Marshall?

anybody know anything about transfering into SPPD? am I eligible to be in the progressive program if i am a transfer student?

@zach504 - did you already do a part I and create a usc id#? As soon as the usc id # is created there is a “file” for you where all documents will be placed when they are sent. An admissions rep told me your part II needs to be submitted by Feb 1st and any documents(transcripts/letters of rec) need to be mailed in asap following the deadline.

No I didn’t do Part I of the application. I just recently started Part II. I wanted to work on my essays some more before I submit my application so I was wondering if I would be able to send my transcripts before I complete my application? And do you know if I have to send in Form 7 even if my HS will send the transcripts directly to USC?

Thanks!

So how was Transfer Day for those who attended??? Find out anything interesting?

Finishing up my application and began to wonder, I know that they say they don’t weigh the activity summary too heavily for transfers since they understand we have jobs, less access to such things and all that. But how far back have you all gone with your activity summaries? Did you go back to HS, or graduation, or what?

@zach - If you haven’t done part I yet then I am not sure. Was a usc id# already created for you? If so then you should be ok, if not then I’d possibly call admissions and ask or see if someone else responds on here.

@ashton0417 - I have some high school stuff on there. I figured it didn’t hurt to include it.

I just put stuff from my senior year to keep it more recent.

@zack504: I don’t usually answer questions on here bc I’m always the one asking them lol, but let me take a stab at answering your question. I wondered the same thing around December-ish and I called SC and I was told that it would be fine if they receive your transcripts and other supplemental forms before your completed application. Oh and yes, form 7 is included with your HS transcript, you can just give it to a counselor, registrar, or whoever is in charge of transcripts at your HS and they can mail in with the transcript.
Hope that helps some ://

I don’t have a USC ID yet, from what I read online I guess I get one when I submit my application.

Thank you to both USPlacer and Kulakai for your information! I will call admissions Monday morning just to double check.

@johnnyboi: transfer day was very uneventful and they basically old us everything we already knew from the website.

they also told us that for Fall 2011 applicants to marshall, you will no longer need to take any of the econ courses

Is everyone done with their essay? I’m just waiting for my professor to check it and on the quick questions I’m kind of stuck on how to answer the 3rd one.
