Hello,

I applied to USC as a transfer undergrad student and just sent my USC online application by the Feb 1 deadline. But I have several questions I would like to ask from those who applied USC online:

1) I can’t open the “courses and grades” section of the online application. It is whited out. Did anybody experience this?

2) Is the “courses and grades” section of the online application same thing as the FORM 6 that can be printed out from the USC website? If so, did you guys mail the Form 6 to the admission office?

3) What would happen if I mail the Form 6 after the Feb 1 deadline? Do you think I should call up the USC admission office and tell them that I mailed the Form 6 after Feb 1 because I was unable to open the “courses and grades” section of the online application? Not quite sure if it is a good idea to tell them about the situation.

ernily, you know you can still send the cover sheets without a USC ID. Just fill out all the other information that is on the sheet.

@Whiteflower 1) Transfer student do not complete the Courses and Grades section. So yes, we all experienced this.
2) Yes we all completed Form 6, as it is the college equivalent of the Courses and Grade Section, and faxed it to USC.
3) You should complete it and fax it to them - they prefer it faxed rather than mailed.

You go to the last page of the application and its one of the documents on the bottom left hand side it lets you print out generated with your USC ID and barcode.

@LagunaSC - I never filled out form 6 as I saw it was mainly for people faxing in transcripts. All of the information on it was also listed in the Marshall supplement and main application so what is the point of form 6 if you are not faxing the transcript/s in?

@Kulakai How is any of it on the main application? But yes some if it is on the Marshall Supplement.

Form 6 asks for previous colleges attended(page 2 of main application), and major coursework/prereqs(marshall supplement) as well as your selected major(page 1 main app).

Got it. This is true but Form 6 also asks for your English and math courses, and all major related coursework (ie if you took a random business class). The main reason I filled it out though was because it said to, it didn’t qualify the instruction with only if you fax transcripts so I think you should send it in.

The marshall supplement asked for the math/english as well so I still think it is redundant. it is possible that maybe this is for those who are filing the application as they might not actually open up your transcript or read through the app for that information? Just to make it easier for them to weed out people who haven’t taken pre-reqs right away. I’ll call and ask to double check.

Yeah that’s true. And definetely, if you aren’t going to do exactly what they say, definetely call to make sure. But for all those not applying to Marshall, they need it since they have no supplemental. Who knows how the process works, maybe a regular adcom first approves then a different Marshal Adcom looks at the supplement. It just isn’t much work at all so you might as well do it in case they ding you for not following directions.

I called in and they said I should in fact fill it out and fax it in. Thanks for pushing me to call :)

Kulakai, did they say anything about whether submitting Form 6 after February 1st would negatively affect your application? I just faxed mine over today as well.

The feb 1st deadline was for the application submission, not supporting documents. As long as you don’t wait a month(months?!) to send in everything else then you will be fine :)

Do we send in Form 6 with a cover sheet or just by itself?

I believe a cover sheet prints out with it, so I included one.

I checked and it has no coversheet. Oh well I sent it already just by itself. Hopefully its not a problem.

When you access form 6 on the app site, it should be three pages. The cover sheet, form 6 itself, and a closing sheet.

Scratch that i got it. Thanks

Would there be a problem because I sent it by itself? I just uploaded online after i found out i could but yeah just wondering.

For all you independents out there, how did you go around submitting the CSS Profile without your parent’s financial information? FAFSA doesn’t ask for it and my parent’s don’t support me even a single dime so ***? This is going to seriously add even more delay to my already late Profile application. :/
