USC 2010 Transfer Thread

So for financial aid, all we need to submit is our CSS profile and the FAFSA, right?

Oh, and to those of you who were concerned about their application status being unavailable, mine is as well.

CAL Grant before March 2nd if you’re a CA resident.

Its probably a huge rush of them getting transcripts and other documents to file. I wont start worrying until at least 3 weeks past when you think they should have gotten it. Has anyone who has mailed their HS or College transcripts to USC after January 10th had it show up as received?

Hey …whats the oasis website and how do u log in? :)

@USC10: https://camel2.usc.edu/ESD/IOL/login.aspx</a></p>

On the issue of receiving multiple letters from USC: Since letters are mailed via postal mail, several issues of the same letter will be sent out on sequential days to ensure that you receive the notice. Law firms and investment firms follow this same practice to avoid any miscommunication.

On the issue of Oasis not showing your submitted documents: Give it more time. The system didn’t update to show my transcripts until after 2 weeks; that was back in October when barely anyone (if anyone) had submitted their application. Now, with it being past the deadline, everyone and their mother (literally) is scrambling to submit documents. This thread is a testament to that. Each submission must be reviewed; with 14,000+ applicants overall, I think everyone just needs to have a little patience. I would give it 4-5 weeks instead.

THANKS @skylineismine!

How do we know if they have received our CSS Profile and FAFSA?

@striker15: Through Oasis. Mine took a little over 2 weeks to show in the system at all. I imagine that it will take longer now that people are submitting those documents in waves.

Hey guys I have 2 questions.

If I took 17 credits last semester, am taking 16 this semester, and have 13 AP credits, are they going to care about my high school grades at all?

Also, is anyone joining any housing waitlists or anything just so you don’t get screwed over with housing in the fall?

@transfer guy no they wont, if all your AP credit transfers over, then they will not need to wait until you send in your grades for spring in order to review your app as a college student without high school records, but I believe if not all of your AP credit transfers over, you may need to send your grades in after spring is done then they will review your app based only on your college records with 30 or more units completed. Make sure all your AP courses transfer for some sort of credit [USC ARR : Articulation : Advanced Placement Exams](http://www.usc.edu/dept/ARR/articulation/apexams.html) if a AP test you’ve taken does not transfer over it will not count towards your overall transfer credit, also keep in mind you need to score a 4 or 5 on all of the exams.

haha I want it to be May already.

@xdzzzrawr

Were we supposed to count AP credit when we self entered our GPA and #credits completed? I assumed they only wanted the credit count of courses completed in college, so I only counted my Fall '09 courses (18 credits). I did report my AP scores though, which should give me 16 additional credits, but I only listed 18 on the application. Will this matter?

lol striker15, same here.

Can anybody confirm whether the GPA I accumulated at my CC(only counting the transferable courses for obvious reasons) count towards my overall graduating GPA? I’m asking this because I was always under the notion that it does but several people I’ve talked to says only the CREDIT transfer over.

Your GPA does not, it will start over when you transfer.

What do you guys use that oasis site for? I have just been using the USconnect or w/e… I hadn’t heard anything about oasis previously??

USconnect is just the portal to access your documents, profile and application from one central point. Oasis is still accessible through USconnect via Financial Aid tab, documents.

No need to panic. :)

@AMorrison

Thanks for the clarification.

yay i got the same letter for the 4th time today. i feel special

I just got this thanks for applying letter… but I only got 1 so far. I feel left out.

did you guys report your ap scores through collegeboard or were they included on your undergrad transcripts?
