USC 2022 Spring Admit internal SCA transfer

Maybe the wrong place, but I’m a spring admit for the 2019 semester originally admitted for Dornsife. I put in an internal transfer app for spring 2019 semester to SCA and was wondering if anyone knows when/how we hear back. I assume just through my usc email but wanted to make sure.

Someone else can chime in here, but I don’t think you will be considered for an internal transfer to SCA at this point in time. I think you have to actually attend first and jump through a few hoops. I could be wrong and @WWWard knows way more about this than I do having a D that had personal experience with it.

In my daughter’s case, she applied for an internal transfer to SCA for the Cinema & Media Studies major during the summer before her first fall term. The earliest term that she could apply for was the subsequent term, in the spring. She heard of her admission during October. Each SCA major is different. Some allow for Spring admission and some only Fall. But I would suspect that each of them require it to be at least the next/subsequent term. In your case, if they accepted your application and emailed you a confirmation of that application, you may very well hear by next month the result. They clearly did not wait to see how my daughter performed as a freshman before admitting her… so maybe you will have the same result. Good luck…

@kerowackedout Good luck and let us know how it works out. Did you apply to SCA in your original application to USC but were admitted to Dornsife as a second choice instead?

Post edit - I see you applied as an English major and were admitted on that. I believe @wwward’s D applied to SCA originally and was admitted undecided…it is interesting to follow how all these things work out. Regardless, there are so many options at USC, one of mine has “changed majors” about 4 times trying to find her way…you will be amazed at all the paths you can take once there.

Update: Just got admitted! A year and a half, 2 applications, and about 20,000 words worth of essays later… finally can say I’m an SCA student.

Wooohoooo - congrats to you, that is huuuuuge!

Congratulations @keroWACKEDout !

Way to go…

Congrats @keroWACKEDout

Now join the SCA Network… basically just $25/year… and start getting invited via email to many more things (premieres, special events and programs, etc.) than you will ever have time to do lol. But it does add to your overall SCA experience greatly over time…
