USC Admissions Chances?

I'm currently a junior in high school. I'm wondering if I have a shot at USC? Here's my basic outline of high school.
Freshman: 3.5(UW)
Sophmore: 3.9(UW) 4.3(W)
Junior: 3.5(UW) 4.5(W)
SAT: 2040

College Classes Taken:
Philosophy: A
Psychology: A
Intro to Chem: A
Music Appreciation: A
General Biology: A

My junior year I screwed up badly. However, I'm very involved in school. Currently, I am the Treasurer of my school's Interact Club and the Activities Officer of the California Scholarship Federation. I have played the piano for 10 years, have done Tae Kwon Do for 2 years, and am currently volunteering at the hospital and library. I also attend a Vietnamese Scout school every Sunday. Is USC a long shot for me? Thanks ahead of time. I've also won the Discus Award if that helps?

Before anyone else gets a chance to comment on the SAT score, I want to speak first. That is a good score, but to improve your chances, you should study over the summer A LOT to raise it as much as possible (even perhaps to gain a chance for a scholarship) in October/November. Bad grades at a specific time can always be explained, although consistent (and good) grades are always better.

The college classes definitely help! I like your ECs but many will think that they are “weak” for USC. They are not weak, but because your competing against students with some state, national and international recognition in the applicant pool, the activities may seem relatively basic.

Good luck! USC is a great school, and I hope you get in. Be aware, however, that college admission to top universities and colleges is becoming tougher each year. Do not be bummed if you do not get into your top choices. You make the college, the college doesn’t make you.
