but they would only consider my application if seats r available later.wouldnt they?. because it will arrive later than the deadline . yea just mailed them… lets see …

just emailed them*

I guess I’ll take a nap and try again at a really obscure time, like 3AM or something. If it’s still down, I may have to skip school, fill out the whooooole printable application, and mail it. :(

mumair, you still have 25 hours before the deadline - keep trying to submit online! Things will free up in a few hours when everyone gives up and goes to bed.

i emailed them and said i had techinal problems, lets see how soon they apply back:)

thats true good advice alamemom

would they give consideration to a paper application arriving after the deadline? … i read somewhere that they will only consider it if seats r available after they have gone through all the applications which have arrived by the deadline… n i dont want to go into regular decision … cant afford the fees

the server got too busy around 7:30, everything was working fine for me an hour or two before. I have everything done! I just need tgo click submjit!!!

also, is the dec 1st deadline only for merit scholarships? or for need based ones too???

yea thanks alamemom… i will keep trying … n since its my day time it would not be hard for me to come n refresh the page… lets see… hope for the best …

funny, they won’t be able to reply immediately - remember it is after 11pm in California - they have all gone to bed! And tomorrow they will be SWAMPED! Emailing lets them know that you are trying to submit and creates a record that will assure that you will still be considered for scholarships even if you can’t submit until after the deadline.

In the meantime, there are still more than 24 hours to submit - keep trying!

Technical error would include how the server is busy due to procrastinators flooding in? :X
Hopefully, they are lenient. If anyone knows PAST applicants who went through the same thing… I’m curious to know what happend. I’m sure this wasn’t the first time the server crashed/is-busy.

I’m unsure about the email thing… like 293857235 applicants will send emails in about the “server busy” thing.

send them a email mumair, because it says on there website that they don’t penalize students for techanial problems and will try there best to submit application good luck thats what i did

college kid - financial aid is an entirely different issue. You are eligible for financial aid if you submit the FAFSA and CSS/Profile by their deadlines (I think Feb 1st - but everyone CHECK THE WEBSITE!) and either application deadline (Dec 1 or Jan) is fine for financial aid.

funnypunjabi i mailed them … r u talking about the emailus button on that page and then they ask ur id name USC id etc and the problem in 1000 characters… that one? or do i have to mail from somewhere else as well??

Star- I dont think they really care about the procrastinator aspect. We are allowed to submit as late as 11:59pm dec 1 and should be allowed to do that.

And mumair, it’s okay if it arrives to usc later than december 1st. as long as you SENT it december 1st.

collegekid- the deadline is only for scholarship consideration. you will do your needbased aid in january and feb with fafsa and all that.

If it makes any of you feel any better… over on the UC forum the “UC App Server crashed” thread has over 340 posts on it… We are only at 56!

omg thats alot anybody knows what happens when stuff like this crashes, and you don’t submit on time??? a true answer

01234567 i dint understand… then what are the deadlines for if we can send the application any time

mumair- you have to send it by december 1st. as in by december 1st, you don’t have the application in your hands anymore. it can take weeks to reach usc and usc would still consider it under the december 1st deadline because you sent your application by december 1st. it matters when you sent the application, not when they receive it
